Genesis, Moses 2-19

So bildete Gott, der Herr, aus der Erde allerlei Tiere des Feldes und alle Vögel des Himmels und brachte sie zum Menschen, um zu sehen, wie er sie benennen würde; und ganz wie der Mensch jedes Lebewesen benannte, so lautet sein Name.

(And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof.)
