FLORIAN, FUTURE ARTIST...?

A visit to Anton's Studio in a Castle, Summer 1986

Florian, who showed a keen interest in Anton's work even as a small baby,
discovered his love for brushes early on.
His favorite pastime was using them to drum on the floor
or on whatever painting happened to sit on the easel at the time,
awaiting finishing touches...

He had - and has! - an uncanny memory concerning Anton's explanations
and utterings in relation to his various works.
And much of it he could quote verbatim.
See: Voices of Criticism and Comments!

His interests broadened to include mechanics and other boys' stuff.
He attended Highschool at nearby Kremsmünster Abbey,
at war with English, Latin and Mathematics.
In May '97 Anton became his godfather.
Florian's hobbies then included remote control boats,
which made life dangerous for ducks, fish and other critters
inhabiting the moat in summer,
and remote control cars, cleverly modified to increase their speed...
- his favorite being a Porsche GT1 with 4WD! -
and skiing, bicycling, camping and reading Stephen King books.
And fishing. And computers, of course
and real motorbikes and real cars - yes, he passed his driver's test!
In 2002 he began learning Italian in a summer school in Firenze, Italy.
He mastered English and started devouring books in their original version.

Last year, Florian finished school, got his Maturazeugnis and did his military duty
(in a non fighting capacity). He has now returned home and ,
following in his father's footsteps, currently attends business school and learns the trade.
Send him an email: "FLO" florian.handlbauer@gmx.at

What does Florian look like now?
Well, he's certainly not ugly!! ;-)
New pictures to come soon!
