El Paso show
Paul posted that Anything Box will be playing a show in El Paso, Texas on November 9, at Area 51/Club 101. This will be the band's first show since May 25 in Chicago, and second since the release of The Universe is Expanding. It is likely that the band will perform, like in Chicago, as a foursome with Claude, Paul, Gary, and Dave (the new guy). So, if you have the time, you might want to make it down to El Paso for the show. Anything Box has been practicing a new set, so it should be an exciting performance.

The events of September 11, 2001
How to Help NYC
The Effects of Stereo TV
Goodbye JulyOn September, 11, 2001, The United States of America was the victim of terrorist attacks as hijackers took control of four commercial jets and flew them into the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.. A fourth jet crashed just outside of Pittsburgh. Thousands of people were killed as the whole world watched both of the twin towers collapsed to the ground. Many of those people still inside were rescue workers trying to help. This is truly one of the greates tragedies in world history.
As the world responds to the effects of terrorism and as the United States of America does all it can to help offer support to all those effected, Anything Box wants to what it can. Claude, Gary, and Dania are all originally from New Jersey, and still consider New York City one of their homes. The events have greatly effected them. Claude has designed a Help NYC postcard he wished to distribute which cotains numbers to contact to help the victims of the events. The band has also made their classic song, World Without Love, available to download at mp3.com. Any proceeds they get from the downloading of their songs will be donated to help help the victims.
The band has paused on its work on the next album, The Effects of Stereo TV. Claude posted that he felt some of the lyrics were not indicative of this time and felt they would be counter-productive.
Paul's Goodbye July side-project is now on vinyl. The Embrace EP with remixes has been pressed and is being distributed to DJs.

Remixes
Claude posted an interesting concept at the forum. He is planning on doing some vocal-only mixes of Clean and Space Age Bluse. He wants forum-goers to make some creative remixes of those songs. There are no rules and you can mix them anyway imaginable. Be sure to post on the forum if you're interested.

Goodbye JulyAnything Box's new album, The Universe is Expanding has been released and is available to purchase directlty through the band at their anythingbox.com website or from A Different Drum.
At the recent show in Chicago, Anything Box introduced their newest bandmember. Dave South helped contribute to the new album and will join the band on stage for live performances. Dave is a multi-skilled musician who will play bass guitar, guitar, and keyboards for the band as well as add backing vocals and beat-boxing.
In conjunction with the release of the new album, Claude has updated the anythingbox.com website. The update features a discography as well as a lyrics page for the new album. The popular fan forum remains and is a great way to contact the band and other fans.
There has been some comments in regards to the bands live show, and concentrating on the new material. The band has been in discussion and is planning on including more of their earlier material at shows mixed in with the new. The band has actually been rehearsing privately and have been working on variations of some of their older songs.
The band's next album, The Effects of Stereo T.V., is half way through completion. Claude describes the album as "less spacey and more raw." It will continue in the musically direction that Elektrodelica and The Universe is Expanding has taken the band.
Sharewear1 is going into a limited reprint due to high demand. The combination shirt/CD is available through the band.
Sharewear2 is almost done--Claude promises.
Goodbye July, the side project of Paul Rijnders will be playing a show as the opener for Book of Love. The show is June 22 at Coyote Wells in El Centro, California. This will mark the second ever Goodbye July concert, and will be the first featuring Cheryl Kunkel as well as the band's new trance sound.

A new band member?
Goodbye JulyClaude posted that the new single, 100% Air-Friendly Groove Pak is less than five days away from shipping. He contacted the manufacturing plant and they mentioned it is being pressed.
Claude is finishing up the artwork this week for the new album and will send it off to manufacturing soon after.
Paul hinted on the fan forum that Anything Box is adding a new member to the band. This new member is not Dania, although she has contributed vocals to the new album. Besides, Dania is, and always will be a member of Anything Box, even if she elects not to perform live. Claude followed by responding to Paul by stating, "4th member? :) Are we actually reffering to him this way already, Paul? I'm soooo ancy..."
At present, it is unknown who the new member of the band is, or what instruments he will play. Some suggestions have come up, that this new member might be the same individual known as Superman, who played on stage with Anything Box at Synthstock 2000 in Salt Lake City. As soon as more information is gathered, The Boxoholic Page will post it.
Paul posted an update on his own Goodbye July side-project. He has been busy in the studio. He noted some of the facts:
(1) There now exists a 17 minute long dance track called "Embrace".
(2) It has the vocals of Paul G, Share-L, and Strilio (that's what I'm calling Gary these days).
(3) It's four parts Progressive Trance, Trance Breaks, Hard House, then French Disco-House.
(4) A 12" vinyl single comes out first, before anything else.
(5) This will be followed by a CD entirely mixed together by Kult Litre.
Paul has also noted that he's using Paul G--he claims to be giving his last name back to the Dutch for a few years. Also, he signed off as "aka Kult Litre". Hmmm, what's gotten into him lately? Sounds like Goodbye July is going to also dive right into this Anything Box 2001 release frenzy.

The Universe is Expanding
The Effects of Stereo TV
Sharewear 2
Worth PageClaude listened to the final run through the new album, The Universe is Expanding, sequenced, in order, and mastered. He's very proud of it. He mentioned that Dania and Jassy sound awesome. This would make it official that long time Anything Box member Dania Morales has done backing vocals for the new album. It also sounds like Jassy, another member of the Strilio family has contributed vocals.
Claude mentioned that this is album is still heavy on the synths despite the the addition of guitars, bass, drums, and beat-boxing. He also mentioned robots, a story and very cool artwork. it sounds like quite a lot of effort has been put into it.
There wasn't enough room for all the songs, and that has lead to the EP, The Effects of Stereo TV, which is now beginning to shape up as an album itself. Claude calls it "a pseudo part 2." He expects to have it completed sometime in June. The track listing he provided is:
Neuropathic Halos (mixed)
Madelyne
Led
Vile
One Minute and 30 Seconds
Molly's Lips
Satellites
Lucy
Reboot
Dream13 (mixed)
Night Song
With eleven songs already listed, this is definitely starting to look like a album.
Sharewear 2 is almost completed and the shirts will be arriving shortly. Sharewear 2 will be blue, and the track listing is:
Everything is not free
The Cheap Beats Theme
All the light has faded out
Scared
Show Me
???
The Worth page addition to anythingbox.com is still in the works. Claude is currently concentrating on finishing the album, so once things settle down, the page will be completed and posted.
My oh my, 2001 is definitely shaping up to be a huge year for Anything Box.

Worth is backClaude stated that Sharewear 1 and the Orange Shirts have started shipping and should be reaching their destinations shortly.
Sharewear 2 is just around the corner. Remember, pre-orders will begin January 15.
Claude has mixed the new single, and similar to the Conscious/Popsong/Small single, it will contain A-Sides as opposed to some B-sides thrown in. Also, the CD will have a title rather than just song names. The working title as of now is, "One Hundred Percent Air-Friendly" and pre-orders are still being accepted.
The new album, The Universe is Expanding, is being mixed. Claude listed some names of tracks including, Clean, Space Age Blues, Radio Stasis, and Down. Claude also mentioned Elektrodelica's Negaverse which he has received permission from Jarrett to include it on the new album.
Worth is back! The re-release of the classic Anything Box album Worth is official. The album has a new look with new artwork, and some added bonus songs that did not appear on the original album. Worth can be ordered directly from Orangewerks, or from A Different Drum.
