Turtle Spotting!

Movies

Fatal Instinct

And here's another one from a movie I saw a year or two ago. The movie is called "Fatal Instinct" (the 1993 one) and it was a spoof of thriller murder movies. Right before the main character's wifegoes to trial for murder, a reporter asked him (something along the lines of) "How does it feel knowing you've been sleeping with a murderer?" and he replied "Better than sleeping with a Ninja Turtle."

Bernard & The Genie

I hit one of Canada's "Speciality" channels - Showcase - when I saw Leonardo coming out of a room with a kid! This was not a cartoon, this looked like one of the Henson costumes! First thing I did was scramble for the VCR remote, but there was no point, the moment had passed. Watched a bit more of the movie and figured that kids were going into this room, making a wish, and having it come true. This child obviously has good enough taste to want his own Ninja Turtle, but he coulda wished for Raphael.
Curious now, I dig out TV Guide. The movie was "Bernard & The Genie", a British movie from 1991 (during the TMNT's heyday). It was a Christmas movie, starring Lenny Henry (a British Comedian) and Rowan Atkinson (better known as Black Adder, and, yeah, Mr. Bean). Ok, onto the net, for a little research. Got to the IMDB and found the movie, did a complete cast list and found that Leo was played by David Forman - who played Leo in the 1st TMNT movie! No wonder the costume looked righ and the Leo-sword movements looked good.

House Party ?

I think is was maybe the 3 one? Not sure. {This was a while ago and I tried ta find yer page, but couldn't} Anyway. The 2 main ppl in the movies who are friends were havin a party and one of them put in a tape. It showed TMNT1 in the ending fighting the Foot right before they saw Shredder on the roof. One of the guys goes "What the! Someone musta switched the tape!" Then he runs outta the room and all the ppl at the party came up and sat real close to the TV.

Crumb

There was one out-and-out turtle spotting... Crumb's wife Aline complains about how she went to a friend's house and saw a kid zoned into his Ninja Turtle video game... not a *complimentary* spotting, mind you, but spotting nontheless. Then in the credits, they gave special thanks to Kevin Eastman (I'm guessing he provided some of the Crumb comics in the doc).

Out to Sea

There have been commercials on TV for the movie "Out To Sea" ... and in the background of the previews, Congo from TMNT3 is playing. OK, this one may be stretching it, just a little. ([;{-P

Loaded Weapon 1

A small scene from the first TMNT movie (where the Turtles are playing 'Trivial Pursuit') was shown in the movie "Loaded Weapon 1". I'm sure everyone who saw this movie remembers that.

Pinochio(unconfirmed)

There is supposedly a reference to the TMNT in the new remake of Pinochio. Does anyone know for sure?
