        Margaret 4 Looney  (Michael 3) was born say 1779 in Stanley Valley,
        Hawkins Co., Tenn.  She married ca1796 Daingerfield
        Rice (b. 1775); d. 1827) who came to Tenn. from Virginia
        and settled near Shelbyville on duck Creek.  Their children
        were:

        Sally Rice (b. 12 Feb., 1797, d. 10 May 1874); m. Bradford
                Co., Tenn., ca1816.
                Mackey Brown (7th child of Joseph and Jemima Broyles
                Brown) b. Haversham, Ga., 11 Feb. 1797, d. March 1874.
                Their son Joseph Emerson Brown b. 15 April 1821 became
                governor of Georgia from 1857 to 1865 and U.S. Senator
                from 1881 to 1891.  Information from Miss Sallie
                Eugenia Brown to Coyd a. Looney.  (The Looney papers
                collected by Miss Sallie Eugenia Brown are reported
                to be preserved in the Archives of Georgia at Atlanta.)
        Prudence Rice b. 12 Feb,. 1801; m. John Ingram.
        Pleasant Rice b. 7 March 1803; m. 26 Aug. 1826 Verlinda
                C. Ray.

Mrs. Margaret (Looney) Rice died on Duck Creek in Tenn. ca 1804. Daingerfield Rice married (2) ca 1808 Nancy Brown, cousin to Mackey Brown, and in 1818 moved to Missouri, Lafayette County, where he died 15 June 1827. Their children were: Polly Rice m. Mary 4 Ann "Polly" Looney (Michael 3) was born 14 Jan, 1781 in Stanley Valley. She eloped and married 14 Nov. 1800 Sherrod Williams (b. 20 April 1776, d. 12 Sept. 1831) a Welshman and a widower with 1 son. Polly Looney Williams died 19 June 1844. Her children were:

Sherrod Williams and family lived in Maury Co., Tenn., in 1807 and in Franklin Co., Tenn., in 1808 at Williams Cove. He gave to each child a Bible with his genealogical record therein.

William 4 Looney (Michael 3) was born say 1784 or 1785 in Stanley Valley, Hawkins Co., Tenn. From county records it is found that by Sarah Felkner, b. 1787, he had a son.

William 5 (Gravelly Bill") Looney, b. ca 1805, d. 1870 in Hawkins Co.; m. Mary Gross b. 1809. This son William 5 lived in Gravelly Valley, Hawkins Co. On 21 Feb. 1835 Williams 5 purchased from William Mann for $325 two tracts in Gravelly Valley, 325 A. (Hawkins Deeds 15, 334.) On 25 Sept. 1846 William 5 Looney and wife Mary agreed to separate and (Hawkins Deeds 19, 426) William deeded 325 acres, etc., to trustees for Mary and the children;
