Looney married March 1866 Mrs. Frances (Overton) Herren of Miss. Co., Mo. and had 7 children.
William 5 Carroll Looney (Absalom 4, Michael 3) was born 9 June 1822, died Sept. 1893 at or near Morristown, Hamblen Co., Tenn; married before 1847, Hawkins Co., Rachel (Payne) George born ca1822 (step-daughter of James Johnson). they left Hawkins Co. by 1870. Looney - Absalom BranchJames 5 Gaines Looney (Absalom 4 D., Michael 3) was born 29 Jan. 1824, died 24 July 1901 in Hawkins Co., Tenn.; married (1) ca 1845 Hawkins Co., Mary (Polly) Ann Johnson born 16 Dec. 1826, died 21 Dec. 1854 (dau. of James Johnson who m. (2) Mrs. Annie Payne). James Gaines Looney and Mary Ann Johnson are both buried at their home in Stanley Valley, Hawkins Co., Tenn., and dates are from their gravestones. Six children were born to this union. James 5 Gaines Looney married (2) 2 March 1856 in Hawkins Co. Nancy Jane Harrell born 23 Jan. 1833, died 6 Oct. 1908, probably in Knox Co., Tenn.
