Alexander (5) Looney (Moses4, Joseph3) was born about 1832 in Botetourt County, Virginia. In 1850 he lived there with his parents, but married within a year or two. At the 1860 census of Craig County, his wife was Margaret M., born about 1831, and their children were:
Mary J. Looney b. 1853. Jane M. Looney b. 1856. George W. Looney b. 1860. (In this household lived Isabell Steel, born about 1844.) Nicholas (5) Looney (Moses4, Joseph3) was born about 1834 in Botetourt County, Virginia. In 1850 he lived there with his parents. Henry (5) Looney (John4, Joseph3) was born in Botetourt County, Virginia (probably between 1830 and 1840). He married ____ Hammock and they migrated to Currinsville, Clackamas County, Oregon, about 1872 or 1880. Henry (5) M. Looney had at least the following children: Robertus (6) Looney, of Salem, Oregon. See 6th Gen. William (6) Looney, of Currinsville, Ore. See 6th Gen.
John (5) Madison Looney (John4, Joseph3) was born in 1856 in “Monroe County, West Virginia”, probably near the present Craig County, Virginia, where his parents were born and once lived. He came with his parents to Roane County, West Virginia, probably as an infant. He married Cynthia, daughter of Delaney Vineyard, and they lived in Roane County where he was a member of the County Court for many years and served as president of the board of education of Walton District. His death occurred on 6 January 1929. There children were:

David (5) Andrew Looney (Joseph4 B., Joseph3) was born 22 March 1852 in Botetourt County, Virginia. He married (1) Margaret Sarver, sister of Clifton N. Sarver, and had children:

Mrs. Margaret Looney died in October 1879 and David A. Looney married (2) Sarah Jane Clinebill and lived in Craig County, Virginia. The children of this union were: Ida F. Looney b. June 1861; m. Robert Reynolds. Joseph W. Looney b. Nov. 1882 or 3; unm. in 1939. Addie A. Looney b. Feb. 1885; m. (1) Akey Fisher; m. (2) Mark Elmore. Edna A. Looney b. Aug. 1887; m. (2) Hugh Rose. David (5) A. Looney made a trip to Oregon to visit his sons.
Joseph (5) Looney (Joseph4, Joseph3) was born in what is now Buchanan County, Virginia; died in 1898. (Buchanan Wills 1, 63.) He married (1) Louesy Childress (Pike Co., Ky., Mar. Reg. 3, 76);
