John S. Looney was listed in the 1830 census of Morgan Co., Ala., but removed to Tenn. (probably Hardeman Co. ) about 1831 or 1832. Then about 1835 or 1836 John S. removed to Tippah Co., Miss., where both John Currin and John S. Looney were listed in 1840 census.
Meanwhile, Lunsford L. Looney was listed in Hardeman Co. in 1840 but followed on to Tippah Co., ;Miss., about 1841.
In Tippah Co., Miss., on 9 Oct 1850 the census taken recorded as family no. 590, on page 533 essentially is as follows. (Additional information furnished by descendants).

(When the state of James 4 Luna was settled in 1878, neither John 5 Smith Luna nor Lunsford 5 Long Luna or their families seems represented. It is said that both John Smith Luna and Lunsford Long Luna had their share of the estate at an early date.)

James 5 Kain Looney (James 4, Peter 3) was born 23 Jan 1815 Lincoln Co, Tenn., and lived with this parents at the 1820 and 1830 censuses.
James K. married about 1834 his first cousin Mary (Polly) Clarissa Hogan, dau. of Peggy Luna and _____Hogan, and they settled in Arkansas in Van Buren Co., Little Red River Township. They were listed in the census there in 1840, both in the 20-30 age bracket, with a son 5-10 and a daughter 0-5. Mrs. Duran reports him in 1850 listed as James K. Looney of Search Co., Ark., b, 1815 in Tenn. With them lived William C. Hogan, b. Tenn. 1835. This James K. Looney is almost certainly the James Leuny who lived in Van Buren Co. in 1840.
Polly was living in 14 Dec 1846 when her grandfather Peter 3 Looney made his will and she was to receive 1/7 of the personal estate. However, she must have been dead in April 1852 when A. (Anthony) H. Luna, her husband’s brother, was appointed by the Marshall Co. Court as guardian of four of Polly’s children as minors and heirs-at-law of Peter Luna, deceased. This was probably done in connection with a distribution of the personal estate of Peter 3 Luna, of which Polly was entitled to 1/7.
James 5 K. Luna may not have been living in 1752; but if so, he may have been in Search Co., Ark. where he died. He probably was not living in 1878, nor was re represented when heirs of James 4 shared in distribution of that estate.
The children of James 5 Kain Looney and his wife Polly (Hogan) Looney, all born in Arkansas, were at least:
Son, born say 1835 as shown by census of 1840 for Van Buren Co., Ark. Mary J. Looney, b.1840 Peter M. Looney, b. 1844 Anthony H. Looney, b. 1846 Andrew J. Looney (Get 5 more names from Mrs. Duran) End of Page 43
Peter 5 S. Luna (James 4 Peter 3) was born 19 Feb 1817 (Bible), probably in Summer or Lincoln Co., Tenn. He lived with his parents in Lincoln Co. at the census of 1820 and 1830. He has not been located at the census of 1840. His Bible has been made available by descendant, Mrs. Modeva Yates.
Peter Luna and Zibbia (Luna) Luna were md. 22 Dec 1846. She is said to have been reared in Maury Co. (an orphan) by a sister Burk or Burt. (The name Winecroft came from some source in this connection.) (The initial S. in Peter Luna's name may stand for Smith, his mother's maiden name.)
From the 1850 and 1860 census records of Marshall Co., Tenn., and from their Bible data we have the family as follows:
Peter S. Luna, woolcarder, b. 19Feb 1817 Tenn., d. 12 July 1889 Zebbia Luna, b.15 Apr 1823, d. 8 Jan 1897 Grant Luna, b. and d. 7 June 1848 Evan Jerome Luna, b. 10 July 1849 Sallie E. Luna, b. 1852 Elizira (or Eliza) Ophelia Luna, b. 23 Feb 1854, d. 11 Apr 1859 Augustine Claiborne Luna, b. 1856, d. 23 July 1938 Dione Zibbia Luna, b. 10 Mar 1859, d. 11 Apr 1859 James Kain Luna, b. 30 Mar 1862, d. 20 Feb 1922 Mary Adler Luna, b. 20 June 1867 Dollie Ursula Luna, b. 26 Mar 1870, d. 15 Nov 1877
In April 1875 Peter 5 Luna was appointed administrator of the estate of James 4 Luna. He had a accounting record 28 Feb 1878. As P. Luna he probably was an heir of James 4 Luna and listed in the accounting. A J. D. Looney in 1925 called Peter 5 (above) "Big Pete" of "Old Jim" Luna.

Elisha 5 Luna (James 4 Peter 3) was born 19 May 1819 in Lincoln Co., Tenn. He lived with his parents in Lincoln Co. at the 1820 and 1830 census. In Marshall Co., Tenn., 1840 Elisha Looney 20-30, with wife in same age group, lived very near his cousin, Wright 5 Looney and had two girls under 5 yr. Thus, he seems to have married about 1836 to Eliza Gray and as of the 1850 census of Marshall Co. the family was as follows:
Elisha Luna, b. 1819 Tenn., stonemason, $600 Eliza Luna, b. 1819 Harriet E. Luna, b. 1837 (m. H.N. Shepard, Ozark Co., Mo.) Nancy M. Luna, b. 1839 (m. Upton, lived in Ozark Co.) Linny L. Luna, b. 1841 (m. Upton, lived in Ozark Co.) John T. Luna, b. 1842 (lived in Ozark Co.) James F. Luna, b. 1844 (d. 1890) Eliza I. (J.?) Luna, b. 1846 (m. Cochran of Ozark Co.) Richard F. Luna, b. 1847 (lived on Bryant Creek) This family moved to Ozark Co., Mo in 1855 and additional names are reproted from 1860 census, Falling Spring P.O., Ozark Co., Mo.: Elisha Y. (or T. J.) Luna of Ozark Co. William W. Luna (Judge), b. 1854 (m. Sarah Patrick and had 10 children in Ozark Co.) Alexander H. Luna (of Ozark Co.) Samuel F. Luna (of Dora, Mo.) Austin C. Luna, b. 1858 (lived on Cane Creek, Ozark Co.) M. J. Luna (lived on Pine Creek, Ozark Co.) L. C. Luna (lived with father on Pine Creek) Amelia Luna (lived near Dora, Mo.)
The father, Elisha 5 Luna, served in the Mexican War; the mother was Eliza Gray (b. Marshall Co., Tenn.). (See also "A Reminiscent History of the Ozark Region," 1890) Elisha 5 Luna was to receive on $5 from his father's estate.
