Robert5 M. LUNA (Peter4, Peter3) was born ca 1805 in Sumner County, Tennessee. He was living with his parents in Lincoln County at the 1820 census. In 1830, at the Lincoln County census report, we find Robert LUNA listed as 15/20 years of age with a wife in the same age group and one daughter under five years.
In Marshall County in 1840, one finds Robert LUNA listed as 30/40, but with no adult females. His oldest daughter was in the 10/15 age group as expected and there were two girls and one boy under five. It can, therefore, in inferred that Robert5 married (1) ca 1828 and that his wife lived about 10 years. It is probable that his first wife was Harriet5 LUNA, his first cousin and daughter of James4 LUNA, who was born 19 July 1805, and would have been the mother of his first four children. It perhaps should be noted that no names have been found for the son and three daughters of Robert5 LUNA that are evidenced by the entry in the 1840 census for Marshall County, Tennessee.
From the Marshall County Marriage Records (Volume 1, 1838-1849) it is found that Robert LUNA married (2) Martha Rodes on 31 May 1841 and the family is listed in the 1850 Marshall County census as follows:
Robert LUNA bn 1805 in Tennessee $600.00

John W. LUNA bn 1848 See SIXTH GENERATION
Margaret B. LUNA bn SEP 1850

On 28 Jul 1846, Robert LUNA was a witness to the will of his
younger brother, James G. LUNA, of Marshall County (Marshall County
Wills, Book A, 1835-1855, pp 153-4). End Page 61
However, he did not participate in the proving of the said will in September 1846.
Robert5 LUNA is not found in the 1860 census of Marshall County Tennessee but he was still living in 1878 and was mentioned at R.M. LUNA, and heir of James4 LUNA.

FIFTH GENERATION
Peter2 BranchPeter5 LUNA (Peter4, Peter3) called "Whisting Pete" was born about 1828 and was living with his parents at the time of the Tennessee census for Lincoln County in 1830 and Marshall County in 1840 and 1850. He probably was the Peter LUNA who had a license to marry Margaret NEIL on 4 September 1851; however the license was returned not certified. It is also possible that he married Betsy Ann THOMPSON on 26 Jan 1855 (Marshall County Marriages, Book II pg 57). He has not been located in the census records for 1860 or later years.
A certain J.D. LUNA reported in 1925 that "Whistling Pete" has sons Jim B., Willis, Manly and Billie, and of these, Willis had three sons and Manly had two boys in Texas.
