Thomas5 J. LUNA (John4, Peter3) was born about 1815, probably in Sumner County, Tennessee, and was residing with his parents in Lincoln County Tennessee at the time of the census for the years 1820 and 1830. Peter2 BranchSarah5 LUNA (Elisha4, Peter3) was born about 1824 as indicated by the 1860 census for Smith County Tennessee. She was living with her parents in Smith County at the 1830 census and the 1840 census for the same county indicateds that she was living with her brother, Peter, and was housekeeper for brothers Peter and Elisha. About 1840, Sarah married ________ JOHNS and was a purchaser at the sale of the Peter3 LUNA estate in 1852. She was widowed and in 1860 she was living with her brother, Elisha, in Smith County along with her daugher, Mary A. JOHNS, who was born in 1858.

Nancy5 Frances LUNA (Elisha4, Peter3) was born about 1819 and was living with her parents as shown by the 1830 census for Smith County Tennessee. She married Alexander ATNIP about 1835 and had three children by 1840; however, no search was made for her in the 1840 census. In the 1850 census for DeKalb County Tennessee, she was listed as head of household with six children and lived adjacent to her mother, Mary A. LUNA (age 65), who was living alone. In the 1860 census, still in DeKalb County, she was living near her brothers. Her children were:
Mary A. ATNIP bn 1835
Richard ATNIP bn 1837
Elizabeth ATNIP bn 1839
Benjamin ATNIP bn 1841
Peter L. ATNIP bn 1843
John C. ATNIP bn 1845
There is also the possibility that she was the mother of Martha,
who in 1850 was living alone.
