Matilda5 C. LUNA (Elisha4, Peter3) was born about 1824 in Missouri, where it is resumed that her parents resided there for a short time before returning to Tennessee. About 1844 she was married to John MEGGERSON but this marriage was terminated bt her death about 1854. The widower, John MEGGERSON, then married Elizabeth, daughter of Andrew5 E. LUNA (Elisha4). At least three children were born to this union, one of which was the following:

     Sarah Jane MEGGERSON bn 1845; d ca 1915; md Judd PARSLEY and had children:
                    Dave and "Big John" PARSLEY

John MEGGERSON served in the Civil War in Company G of the Regiment commanded by Colonel J.H. SAVAGE. He was wounded at Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and spent six months in a hospital at Rome, Georgia.

Thomas5 J. LUNA (John C.4; Peter3) was born about 1815, probably in Sumner County, Tennessee, and was residing with his parents in Lincoln County Tennessee at the time of the census enumeration for the years 1820 and 1830. At the time of the 1840 census, however, he is found in Marshall County, Tennessee, with a wife in the same age group and two daughters under five years of age. The 1850 census yields the following information, which is about all that is presently known about this family:

William6 L. Looney (John5 Smith, James4, Peter3) was born 1830 in Morgan Co, Ala., and went with his parents to Hardeman Co., Tenn., about 1831 or 1832; then to Tippah Co., Miss., about 1835 or 1836. William L. Looney married about 1865, probably in Miss., Mary C. ________ (b. 1840 Tenn.).

        Their children at the 1880 enumeration in Tippah Co., Miss., were:

        Henry P. Looney   (b. 1866 Miss.)
        Sally Looney   (b. 1868 Miss.)
        Robert L. Looney   (b. 1872 Miss.)
        John Looney   (B. 1874 Miss)
        Lunsford Looney   (b. 1877 Miss.)

Lunsford6 L. Looney (John5 Smith, James4, Peter3) was born about 1834 in Hardeman Co., Tenn., and went with his parents to Tippah Co., Miss., about 1835 or 1836. Lunsford L. Looney married about 1871, probably in Miss., Miss Sarah V. _______ (b. 1843 in Texas).
Their children at the 1880 enumeration were:

        Cyntha H. Looney   (b. 1872 Miss.)
        Joseph W. Looney   (b. 1875 Miss.)

John6 Currin Luna (John5 Smith, James4, Peter3) was born in Alabama ca 1827 and was living with his father, John5 Smith Looney, when they came from Alabama to Hardeman Co., Tenn., about 1831 or 1832, likewise at home when the family moved a very few years later to Tippah Co., Miss. John Currin Luna served in the 2nd Regt. of Miss. Infantry, C.S.A., a private in Co. F. He was a witness when his younger brother, Lunsford Luther Luna, was married in 1860.

He may have been killed in the war because none of his kin ever heard of him again.

Mary6 Emeline Eliza Luna (John5 Smith, James4, Peter3) was born in 1832 in Hardeman Co., Tenn., and died 28 Jan 1909 and was buried in New Hope Cemetery, Falkner, Miss. She married Calvin Jackson of Falkner. He served in the C.S.A. and died in an Army hospital at Oxford, Miss. His wife Eliza and his father-in-law John Smith Luna rode on horses to see him but found that he had died and was buried two days before they arrived.

        Eliza and Calvin Jackson had two sons:

                John Jackson and James Jackson, both of whom lived in
Falkner, Miss.

John5 Smith Luna and his two young daughters, Tena and Virginia, made their home with Eliza after Calvin Jackson's death. Eliza died there 28 Jan 1909. John5 Smith Luna had died at her home on 23 Jun 1885.

William6 Lafayette Luna (John5 Smith, James4, Peter3) was born 24 Jul 1829 in Morgan Co., Ala., and died 8 May 1944 (wrong - after 1878) in Walnut, Miss. He married (1) Margaretta Rowland and had three children:

        John Smith Luna (b. 22 June 1856, d. 15 Dec 1941) md. Betty Jane
Kuykendell and had daughter Mrs. Joe Lewis of Little Rock Ark., also
Wilborne S. Luna who md. Marge Lee Lapham.

        Elizabeth Luna (b. _____, d. 1862 while father was in service of C.S.A.)

        Henry Powers Luna (b. 24 Jul 1864, d. 13 Mar 1933) md. Margaretta
                    Rowland

William6 L. Luna md. (2) Mary Newsom Yepp (Yopp?) on 16 Jul 1867 (and she d. 1903).
They had five children:

        Sally Looney   (b. 26 Apr 1868, d. 11 Jan 1956) md Billy Graham, who was
                    a Presbyterian minster in Greenville, Texas, for 35 yr.
        Jim Luna   (b. 24 Dec 1869, d. 30 Apr 1943) md. Sara Byrd Mitchell 
                    (b. 16 June 1874, d. 22 Oct 1948)
        Robert Lee Luna (b. 26 Oct 1871, d. 1894) went to Texas in 1871 and
                    md. Addie May Lloyd and moved to Texas in 1880 (?)
        John Luna   (b. 1874, d. 1803, Aug 21) md. 24 Dec 1894 Konia Reed
        Lunsford Luna   (b. 1877, d. 1953) never married.

        William6 Lafayette Luna servied as a private in Co. G of the 2nd
Regt. Of Miss. Infantry.  He lost his right arm at Gettysburg.
