and after the Civil War, he made his home in New York City. He
married 1st; Mary Ann McGuire, the daughter of Patrick McGuire,
of Maury County. There is a grave in Arlington cemetary
where McGuires are buried. 'Martha Ann McGuire' , died 7/17/1840.
It is not known is this is Mary/Martha, or if Mary and a child
died on the same date .Issue;

H. George G. Looney. Died young.
I. Abram McClelland Looney. Born c.1820. Died 1904. He was born,
reared, married and lived his long life in Columbia, Tennessee,
beloved and honored by all who knew him. A natural orator, he
spoke in eloquence and with persuasive force. He was a profound
lawyer and able advocate. He was often a member of the State Sen-
ate. He gently breathed his last at his home, Elm Springs, near
Columbia, in 1904. He married Susan Todd, the daughter of Chris-
topher Todd, of Maury County. They were the parents of;
(1)Sarah (Sallie) Todd Looney. Born 10/15/1846. Died 7/
1/1913. No issue.
(2) Elizabeth Gammon Looney. Born 8/18/1848. Died 7/3/
1937, in Greenville, Texas.
(3) Abram McClelland Looney, Jr. Born 5/25/1852. Died
5/4/1930, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.

National Democratic Committee from Tennessee. He was a member of
the Confederate Army, and was a prisoner of war in 1863. He
returned to lead a charge in the Battle of Shiloh. He married
Louisa Margaret Crawford, the daughter of James T. Crawford.
