Some of our favorite sewing machines…

Photo from Singer Sewing Machine advertisement, ã 1917

Barbara has loved sewing machines since she was a little girl and Jackie finds the mechanics of them intriguing, so in the last year or so, we have been scouring the hills and dales of East Texas for different and interesting models….. Singer being the machine of choice! Barbara has slipped a few times and bought some really nice English and German machines though.

We have rescued some old machine heads from the "treadle butchers" who only want the stands and drawers, to provide parts for machines in need of a transplant. If you are looking for some gizmo to make your old Singer "sing" again (GROAN), e-mail us to see what we may have laying around the barn.

There are pictures all over the web of the more common machine models and for that reason, we will not use up web space to show those, but we will be posting some of the more unusual machines for you to see.
