BIO FOR RONALD L. SINGER

Ronald Singer received his B.S. from Tulane University and M.S. from Loyola University of New Orleans.  Mr. Singer spent sixteen years with the Jefferson Parish (Louisiana) Sheriff's Office Crime Laboratory as Crime Laboratory Director and a Criminalist specializing in firearms/toolmarks, trace evidence, blood spatter and crime scene reconstruction. In 1989 he moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he established the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Criminalistics Laboratory, a full service ASCLD/LAB accredited laboratory.  In addition to his duties with the Medical Examiner's Office, Mr. Singer maintains a private practice as a consulting forensic scientist specializing in laboratory management issues, firearms/toolmarks/impression evidence, blood spatter and crime scene reconstruction.  He has given expert testimony in Federal, State and Local Courts in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Colorado.  Mr. Singer has served on the faculties of Loyola University of New Orleans, Texas Christian University, University of North Texas, Weatherford College and Tarrant County College; and has been an invited lecturer in England, Hungry and Bosnia.

Mr. Singer currently serves as President of the International Association of Forensic Sciences, is a Fellow and Past President of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, a Distinguished Member and Past President of the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners, an Emeritus Member and Past Secretary of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors, and a Member of numerous other forensic associations.  In 1987, he received the Member of the Year Award from the Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners, and in 1999 he received the American Academy of Forensic Sciences Criminalistics Section Distinguished Service Award.
