Hump lead where cars are released to coast by gravity through computer controlled switches and retarders into tracks for switching into outbound trains. The small building next to the track is the Hump Conductor's Cabin which is usually called "The Dairy Queen" because it resembles an old time Dairy Queen. This Regional Dispatching Center, called "STO Fort Worth" is located on the Second Floor of the Crest Tower Building. Although our dispatchers like Mike Wyatt in the picture dispatch only the area around Fort Worth, the various CRT screens display track occupancy, switches and signals al the way west to Clyde, north to McAlester, east to Marshall, and south to Houston. - Photo by C.
