Skip Waters of Dallas is offering an exciting opportunity to ride a California Zephyr private railcar to San Antonio and back. Thirty seats are available on the "Silver Palace" Vista Dome Lounge Car behind Amtrak's "Texas Eagle."
The trip Leaves Dallas for San Antonio on Monday, July 8. The return trip departs San Antonio for Dallas on Sunday July 14.
The fare is $149 one way and $249 for round trip. Waters says that travelers who cannot take off work to enjoy this great trip can go down to San Antonio on Saturday July 13 via the Texas Eagle (or other transportation) and ride back on the California Zephyr "Silver Palace" private on Sunday July 14.
The Sunday return trip is scheduled to leave San Antonio at 7:00 a.m. allowing you a full day of sightseeing from the Vista Dome during the return trip to Dallas.
Skip said, "A second car may be added to the consist, and will allow more viewing from the rear of the train. This is exciting , since we will have free roaming privileges between the cars as we travel."
