The Things Kids Say

By Gloria Sample

Robert and I have two granddaughters. Amanda is 8- years old and Sage just turned 3. I don't think I have written anything about Sage, because she is just now talking, where we can understand her. However, she said something to me today as w e were taking her home, that I thought I would write about .

We were getting close to Sages house, going down Jacksboro Highway, which is dangerous anyway, and she wouldn't sit back in the seat and keep her seatbelt on. I told her I was going to spank her bottom, if she didn't sit in the seat.

She then climbed upon the back seat, got down and crawled between me and her PaPa, put her little finger up in my face and said, "Grammy, (She doesn't call me MiMi.) I'm not happy with you." She never blinked an eye.

I told her I wasn't happy with her either. She did sit back in the seat and put her belt on.

When we got tho her mother's house, I told her what Sage had said. She then told me that is what Sage's teacher tells them at school when they act up.

I guess now we have another little one that will speak her mind.
