Cherry Mound -- Locomotive Engineer Eldon R. Edgett, 38, was killed in an automobile accident, south of Whitewright, Texas, December 2.
Eldon was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
He was born December 3, 1958, in Denison, Texas to James and Stella Edgett. He was a graduate of Bells High School.
He married Anita Ewig at Bells, Texas on July 14, 1988.
Funeral service was held at Mullican-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Bells, at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 1997. The Reverend Phil Payne officiated.
The family received friends at the funeral home Thursday, December 4, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Edgett of Cherry mound; his mother, Stella Edgett of Cherry Mound; his sister, Janice Edgett of Sherman; his step-son, David Elenbaas of Cherry mound; and several aunts and uncles.
