From January through February there were three service units with no reportable injuries. These were Fort Worth, North Platte, and Powder River. The cumulative index is out and has been posted on the bulletin boards.
We have had four incidents now through March 19, with 1 reportable injury for the year. We are starting the year with renewed zeal for safety. Let's all keep observing our individual responsibility for our safety. We have the processes in place and are using them.
All of the contributions to the yardmasters daily safety logs and those to the safety hotline are continuing to make our work environment safer for everyone.
The 58th Annual Southwest Conference & Exposition of the Texas Safety Association was held in Houston, March 17 through March 19. The Fort Worth Service Unit received Honor Awards for Mesquite Yard, Mockingbird and Browder Yard and for the entire Service Unit. These Honor awards were handed out for those units in the railroad industry who achieved outstanding safety records for the year 1996.
CONGRATULATIONS !
Safety is our Responsibility.
