Work Continues on N.T.T. Co. Trolleys

By Lee Lavell

Work continues on the Northern Texas Traction Company Interurbans and Forney Trolley Cars at the Texas and Pacific Depot. On February 19, a manual titled, "Restoration Program" which explains the restoration standards and quality control procedures to be used for the project was submitted to the Texas Historical Commission.

The manual was approved on March 16, and we are well on our way to receiving grant money. Receipt of these funds will enable us to purchase trucks, traction motors and other hardware to get the project rolling.

This manual was compiled with input from a number of volunteers. Special thanks to Harold. C. Wareham for his tireless efforts to put it together.

As usual, we continue to need support from our volunteers. We would like to thank Vernie Barber, Charles Daffern, Bob Dove, Willy Kirby, Blair Lavell, Johnny Myers, Andy Nold, Winston Sparks, Lela Standifer and H.T. Tedesco for keeping the project alive during the winter months.

We are always looking for additional volunteers on this historical project. The project office is in the T & P Building. Interested persons should call 817-820-0247.

The cars can be seen under the shed on the old passenger platform.
