This 86 y/o female was referred for plain films of the knee due to a complaint of chronic knee pain. A mildly expansile, lytic lesion in the distal femur, containing calcifications and with periosteal reaction was suspected to be a chondrosarcoma. MRI was performed and showed findings consistent with chrondrosarcoma. Surgery confirmed the diagnosis.
