TRAINING APPLICATION

I am currently accepting applications for training,
from people who are really interested in trying to do
something to make a difference. Since the people who
are "in at the beginning" will be those who, if this
system takes off, go on to set up and run future centers,
screen and train new staff, etc. I am trying to do my
absolute best to screen against anyone who might take
advantage of an inmate or, otherwise, jeapardize the
success of this system and the positve goals which it is
intended to accomplish. Because if this, this application
is somewhat extensive and comprehensive. If you came to
this page thinking, "AHW-HAW!!! A job where I can get
paid to hurt people!" you've come to the wrong place and
I'd appreciate it if you didn't waste either your time or
mine, by completing this application... If, on the other
hand, you came here thinking, "This would be a really tough
job; but, the rewards of knowing that, in the end, doing
this job would result in a lot of people being spared a lot
of pain; so, it would be worth it..." then please continue,
even if you question whether, or not, you might be accepted
for training. I fully believe in giving people a chance to
prove themselves, often in spite of other factors... Each
application is evaluated on its own merits and from a
perspective of: motivations. life experience, attitudes,
insight, and candidness. You need not have a college
degree in any field; but, you must have either a high
school diploma or a G.E.D. At least some college is
prefered; but, I recognize the fact that life can teach a
person far more than any classroom can. You need not
be 21 to begin training; but, you WILL have to be at least
21 prior to being called upon to work any cases.
I realize that many of the people I really want staffing
this system will often be the same people who will most
question their ability to deal with the corporal punishment
aspect of it. Because of this, a signifigant portion of
the first phase of training is designed to (in addition to
helping you to gain other skills) develop an attitude which
will make this much easier for you. Once you are fully aware
of the extent of the suffering our current system generates,
it will be MUCH easier to view the very short term suffering
of the clients/inmates you will be working with as being a
definite improvement over that which they now experience.
When one adds to this the benefits to victims, family members,
and society in general, it becomes obvious that this is a far
mor compassionate system...
I neither charge you for the training, nor pay you for
taking it. I have tried to structure it in such a way as
to make it useful in everyday life. If nothing else ever
happens, no one will have lost anything but a little time
and gained some useful skills and information. This
training consists of a number of assignments, which
you complete in your own community and then submit
reports via either mail or e-mail. The only costs you
will incur are for a Red Cross First Aid course and for a
self-defense course, which you arrange for and take in
your own community; then, mail in documentation of
your having completed them. Credit will be given for
these if you have already having completed a Red Cross
approved "Community First Aid and Safety" (formerly
known as a "first-responder") course, a self-defense
class, etc. (If these are reasonablly current, you will
not be required to repeat them.) Many other portions
might be credited for life/work experience; but, each
of these will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
The way these jobs work, at this time, is that
those people who successfully complete the training
courses are called upon as waiver cases arise. (In
rare situations, we also take what we refer to as guilt
cases; but, the policies are very similar.) Whenever
possible, these will be in your own geographic areas.
Preference will be given to people who bring in a case
in that area. Assistance will be provided by either
myself or by other experienced people. When you are
asked to work cases which are outside of your area,
there will be arrangements made to protect you from
incurring out-of-pocket expenses. Pay will vary,
depending upon the job you will be fulfilling, the
client's ability to pay, etc. Taxes
will be addressed on a 1099 basis. During the waiver
phase, you really need to have another, full-time, job;
and, a great deal of effort will be made to avoid any
confilcts with that job. Although you will make a little
extra money; if this is your motivation, you're going to
be dissapointed...
Once states begin passing C.A.S laws, the people
who have been working waiver cases will have first
priority for staffing these programs. Those who do not
wish to accept these jobs will be free to continue working
waiver cases in the states which have not yet passed C.A.S
laws. As new states pass the law, they will continue to be
given preference for these openings. Other opportunities
will include that of becoming a member of training teams
and of teams which will assist with screening inmates for
a conversion of their sentences over to this new system.
Eventually, the goal is to establish enough legal
precedent to support non-voluntary corporal sentencing
laws. At such time as that can occur, the demand for
experienced people to set up and run these centers will
be high and it could prove to be lucrative; but, again,
this is not a good motivation, because there are no
assurrances that this will ever occur. Whether, or not,
it does occur will be largely dependant upon how well
the people who are working this system in these early
stages do their jobs.
The uncertain growth speed of these programs is the
downside; but, there are rewards to be had, as well. Even
if no state ever passes a C.A.S law, you will come out of
training having a good knowledge of first aid (which could
be very useful if a friend or family member has an injury
or other medical emergency), you will have some experience
in self-defense (which could be VERY useful in protecting
yourself or a loved one.) You will have a MUCH better
insight into human nature and motivations (which can be VERY
useful in a wide variety of career paths...) Working waiver
cases, you will have the knowledge that, because of you,
another human being has a chance at turning his or her life
around -- thus improving the quality of life for not only
themselves; but, also, of their families and communities
(instead of just being a drain on the already over-streached
resources of our prison systems.) Ultimately, these waiver
cases can result in our laws being totally restructured and
countless people can be spared the pain of being a victim of
crime. Kids who are making decisions which will affect their
futures will be far more inclined to make choices which will
steer them toward positive career paths, rather than into a
criminal lifestyle. Crime can be signifigantly reduced,
freeing up resources for restoring deteriorating neighborhoods
and improving the lives of thousands... One heck of a legacy
to leave this world with, isn't it?...

E-MAIL REPLIES:
Cut and paste the following questions over to either
your e-mail or word processing program. Leave a blank
space between each question. Send the completed form to:
fedup@flash.net If you send it as an attachment, make
sure that it is in a plain .txt format.
MAIL REPLIES:
Please do one of the following:
1) Answer as you would if sending it by e-mail, then print
it out; or,
2) Print out the questions; then, on lined notebook paper,
print or write your answers in order and with reference to
the associated question.
ALL REPLIES:
Take all the space you need to be thorough. Feel free
to add any information you feel might be relevant to making
a decision regarding your suitability for the jobs listed
under http://www.reducecrime.org/centers.htm Be as honest
as you can and don't try to guess which responses I'm looking
for (you might be totally wrong...) Some of the questions are
intended more to determine how best to structure your training
or what additional issues might need to be addressed before or
during training, rather than to determine your suitability for
training... Other questions are included primarily to see how
well you understand yourself and how willing you are to answer
these questions honestly...
Prior to writing your answers, tape record the questions
and your answers. Do this only once and do NOT rehearse for
the tape -- indications of rehearsal (ie. minimal reversals)
will be viewed as an attempt to hide information and is grounds
for disqualification.
By submitting this application, and the required tape,
you are giving your consent for the tape to be reviewed for
the truthfulness of it's content, by means of Reverse Speech
Technology. While this technology is rather new, it is far
more accurate and revealing than any other form of truth
detection (ie. polyagraphs, voice stress, etc.) If you are
not, already, familiar with it please use this link
Reverse Speech Technology
or, the one which is provided on my "External Links" page
to learn more about it.
Mail the tape and any printed material to:
