The Model BEP II is a multi-function system designed to acquire a standardized set of performance measures, nearly all of which are directly or indirectly associated with lower extremity motor control functions.

The BEP II system consists of:

The BEP II module is positioned on the floor in front of a seated subject (or under the leg of a standing subject for some protocols) who uses it to execute lower extremity tasks designed to stress specific performance resources. It has six high speed touch sensors (two groups of three) and two high intensity/high speed semiconductor lights (one per group of sensors). Tests consist of short, well-defined tasks (10-30 sec) that permit rapid documentation of performance capacities that have been established as important characteristics of the involved subsystems and are important to the execution of higher level tasks such as gait.
