health and welfare

Thanks to all Prairie Creek families who have helped to support the Clothes Closet this year. We will not be collecting clothing any longer for the school year after May 13, so get your donations in by then if you've been holding onto things. You all have done a wonderful job. I want to thank my volunteers once more for supporting this project throughout the year.

These people have sorted and delivered clothing as well as assist the children who come to the Clothes Closet throughout the year: Marianne B., Robyn B., Jill B., Carol D., Nancy E., Claudia J., Deb J., Janet M., Sheryl O., Joanie S., Pamela T. and Ann Y. You all have been terrific!

Parents, remember to keep talking to your children about the health and safety issues we've tried to stress throughout the school year. Red Ribbon week comes once a year, but the issue of drug abuse needs constant attention. Don't ignore inhalants as a danger. They are very accessible and can be extremely dangerous when abused. Continue to stress good hygiene with your children. When they help you in the kitchen take the opportunity to remind them of the importance of proper hand-washing, and cleansing of utensils and preparation surfaces. Be sure that your children take care of their skin by using proper sun protection during the summer months. Have a wonderful vacation!
