HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?

It’s In The Bag

Third grade finished a busy week of selling popcorn with a profit of $164.00! The money was split by both classes, and stockholders then had the pleasure of voting on how to spend their earnings. Both classes spent a portion on a "Pizza and Coke Float" party with the remaining portion given to charity: The Make-a-Wish Foundation and The Ronald McDonald House. Third graders learned much about the value of work and money - and had a great time doing it! Thanks to all who contributed to this endeavor.

Third Grade Readers

April was another good month for 3rd grade readers. Third graders listed below each read at least 20 minutes for 20 days for the month of April.

Ms. Biedenharn’s class: Taylor, Kimberlee, Fanni, Jessica, Elsa, Caroline, B.J., Tyler, Coleman, Chad, Lizzie, Ethan, Christopher, and Scarlet.

Mrs. Water’s class: Jeff, Emily, Peter, Colin, Catie, Tracy, Greg, Sarah, John, Kathryn, Michael, and Chelsea.

Notes

Check out the PCE PTA web site at www.flash.net/~hufferj/pta. Watch for new features on our site - maybe even live metro traffic reports. You’ll also find back issues of the Prairie Creek Press and helpful links to other PTA, education, and fun kid sites. There’s a great link to National PTA’s "Kids in Crisis - What You Can Do." Happy surfing!

Please continue to recycle your newspapers, white office paper, junk mail, and flattened cardboard boxes this summer. Our recycling bins will continue to be emptied, and Prairie Creek will still receive funds for the paper that’s recycled. Be good to the earth and the school this summer and all year long!
