Comments: Hi. I was wondering how much of the family you are familiar with? I am the granddaughter of John H. Melton, who is married to Melli Fletcher Melton. They are originally from Tennessee, I think, but they live in Longville, LA now.

Comments: My family is descended from John Melton and his brother James Melton from Union County North Carolina. I was told they each received a grant from the King of England around 1760 for 1 sq. mile each in lower Union County. I don't know if we are related but they were both british soldiers. I am from a family of 10 children. I was glad to find anything on the melton family. Thank You.

A ways back, I have a Sarah Melton (b. 8-7-1794 in Chatham, NC; d. 2-16-1874 NC while visiting relatives). She was married to Willis Booker 1804 in Cumberland, NC. They lived in Moore Cty, NC until 1810 then moved to Monroe Cty, Alabama. Do you know anything about her??? Thank you for your time!!!!

Comments: Great page. First I have seen that traced back as far as you have. Are you going to expand the page? My mother(step) and older cousin are trying to work on our melton line. I guess we are all related in some way or another. I was interested in my heritage and did a search on Melton and here comes your site. Maybe I can send you info on my line if you want. I don't know how for it goes back but it may help. Also, the Melton crest, you said your sister took a picture of one, any way you could send me a picture of it? Keep up the good work.
