ACKNOWLEDGEMENT:
This manuscript, compiled by Leroy W. Tilton, was the cumulation of 50 plus years of work on the part of many Looney and Allied Family Researchers from all across America. While this work is known to contain some errors, it is the single most widely used document relied on by present day Looney Genealogists in America. We would like to thank the family of Leroy W. Tilton for giving T T G (of the Looney Family E-Mail Discussion Group) permission to transcribe this Manuscript into computer based format, to display them on the WWW, for making it available to future Looney and Allied Family Researchers/Genealogists and to use it to further the documentation of this family. Mr. Tilton has expressed his acknowledgement and gratitude (within the Manuscript) to those who helped him in collecting, analyzing, and documenting his work. We are forever greatful to Mr. Tilton and the others for this work.

DEDICATION:
The current work expended in the transcription of Tilton's Manuscript and the creation of these Web Pages is dedicated to Miss. Elizabeth Looney of Washington, D.C. Miss. Looney is a long time Looney Family Genealogist who worked with Mr. Tilton and many others in creating Tilton's Manuscripts. Miss. Looney has not only collected Looney Family information in excess of 50 years, but she has been graciously willing to freely and openly share her findings with others researching Looney and Allied Family Heritage. Miss. Looney has helped directly and indirectly to guide many a lost Looney Family Researcher onto the trail of lost ancestorial lines. Miss. Looney is turly the Matriarch of the Looney Family Researchers in America.

CREDITS:
During open e-mail discussions of the Looney Family Discussion Group, i.e., "LOONEY BIN", it became apparent that some individuals, and some Libraries, were in possession of certian parts of Tilton's Manuscript. It seemed that few were in possession of a complete set of the work. This was due in part because individuals tend to research their own branchs, ignoring the others. It is also due to the effort involved in providing a complete hard copy of a work of this size.

T T G would like to extend recognition and appreciation to all the members of the Looney Family Discussion Group who have volunteered their time, resources, and are cooperating in getting this project together and on line. This collection of individuals is collectively known as T T G (Tilton Transcription Group).
T T G is made up of the following individuals:
Beverly Amos, Anne Rhea Bruce, Pat Davis, Lisa Anne Howell, Ann Huskinson, Larry W Johnson, Jackie Lamphear, Bill Landers, Marc Lavelle, Cheryl Malo, Janice Orr, Rhonda Shoemaker, Jim Sullivan, Lloyd Waldrep, Cynthia Whitlock, Dick Witters, Martha Luna Worby, and Pam Yokers.
