John (5) Looney (John4, John3) was born in Tazwell County ca 1834 and married 13 February 1854, Tazwell County, Virginia, Lucy Elswick born ca 1828 (daughter of John and Winnie Elswick). (Tazwell Co. Mar. Recs.) She was born ca 1838. After the death of John (5) in July 1874 his widow Lucy married a Joseph Looney, 1st cousin to John (5). The children of John (5) and Lucy Looney were:

Daniel (5) Looney Jr. (Peter4 C., Robert3) was born 22 September 1846 in Kanawha, now Roane County, West Virginia. He died 24 March 1891. On 8 October 1867 he was married to Elizabeth R. Lowry born 6 August 1846, daughter of William Harrison and Hannah (Patton) Lowry of Roane County. Their children were:

Peter (5) H. Looney (Daniel4, Robert3) was born 11 January 1873 (or 13 March 1873) in Lynden, West Virginia, and died 17 September 1957. He married Rose A. Jordan in 1913. They had:
