Livia Reasoner
I have been married to author James
Reasoner for over thirty wonderful years. We have been blessed with two beautiful
daughters. We live in a house that we built ourselves with the help of family.
I love carpentry work and recently added a large room and two walk-in closets to
our house to accommodate our family and growing library. Unfortunately this has cut
into my writing time.
My first romance was published 'way
back in '83 by Fawcett as by Livia James. Under the name Elizabeth Hallam, I had a
Jove novel come out February 2000, a time travel romance. The heroine is a present
day fire jumper and the hero is a 1906 San Francisco fireman. The heroine is thrown
back into his time just before the big earthquake. The earth certainly moves for
this couple. Its title is TIME PASSAGES: YESTERDAY'S FLAME.
During the summer of '99 my Medieval
paranormal was also published by Jove under the Hallam name. It featured a
pair of meddling genies who have to bring 1001 true loves together before they can be
freed. It is titled ALURA'S WISH .
Another Elizabeth Hallam romance,
SPIRIT CATCHER, was published by Jove, July '98 in their Haunting Hearts
series. (I used the pen-name Elizabeth Hallam because she is in fact a character name used
in my mysteries set in the 1920's and 1930's Hollywood.) SPIRIT CATCHER
followed an Our Town book published in January of '98 called MENDING
FENCES under my own name, Livia Reasoner.
I am presently writing a book for
Silhouette's Nocturne series of paranormal romances, a suspenseful tale of vampires and
vampire hunters.
If you would like to read more about
my romance novels go to my Romance page.
I also write mysteries under my maiden
name L.J. Washburn. My first mystery WILD NIGHT, was originally published by
Tor Books and reprinted by Five Star Mysteries. WILD NIGHT is set in Hollywood
during the 1920's, featuring Hollywood stuntman, Lucas Hallam, and was followed by two
more novels in the series, DEAD-STICK and DOG HEAVIES. I am presently writing the
Fresh-Baked Mystery series for Signet under the name Livia J. Washburn. The first
book A PEACH OF A MURDER was published in October 2006. MURDER BY THE SLICE came out
in October 2007 and THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE KILLER will be released in October 2008. In
addition, I'm writing a literary tour mystery series for Kensington Books that will
premiere in late 2008 with FRANKLY, MY DEAR, I'M DEAD. If you would like to read
more about my mystery writing go to my L.J. Washburn page.
Five Star Mystery also published a
book I wrote with my husband, James Reasoner. TIE A BLACK RIBBON is a
contemporary mystery novel set in Fort Worth, Texas featuring honky-tonk bouncer/PI
Skeeter Barlow. This novel was published in March 2000.
