Motorcycle Education of Oklahoma

Maybe we could have a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) approved motorcycle training range in your local area.  I agree that driving in excess of 100 miles from your location to get motorcycle training is not reasonable.

The first thing in trying to get a range in your local area is the hardest one of all, getting the land for the motorcycle range.  According to Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) standards the following is what I need:

200 by 300 semi level paved area with less than a 5% grade.

Now that is not to say that a smaller area would not work.  Once, you have found the land then the next requirement is can I paint on it.  Yes, someone will come up with the idea that you could use chalk to eliminate that requirement.  The problem is that it takes about 8 hours to properly set up a motorcycle range, that is before any activity can safely be done on this range.  This could be just many small dots, like the diameter of a standard coffee cup, made in a certain design.  I have painted these dots on an airport ramp.

With that done all that is necessary is for me to come and measure the area exactly and draw very detailed plan of the proposed range and the immediate area surrounding it.  Take that detailed plan and send it off to MSF.  If, they approve the layout then we are AOK.  If they don't, then its back to the drawing board.

Lets say that you have this area that looks excellent and is the correct size how long would it take from the start of this process till the first class?  Looking at a ballpark figure I would say something like two to six weeks depending on MSF approval.

The reason that I have to get MSF approval is because of insurance and many small but, important items.

Then some additional requirements that I have are there someplace that is nearby that I could use as a classroom.  The building does not need to have electricity as I have my own generator.  Then there is the minor thing called students.

Now this range could be set up to be used for Beginner RiderCourse(RSS)/Experienced RiderCourse(ERC).  The best idea would be for both courses.

If you have some place that could be used for a range and you have talked with the owners and they agree why not send me an email with the info.  I can be contacted at CycleEd.com.

Yes, I know that this will be a very detailed process from start to finish but just think of the results.  You will have a MSF approved motorcycle training range in your local area.  Just think all those bikers in your area that could take an ERC.  Now how about those new possible bikers that now can get a 'M' endorsement on there license without having to use their own bike.

Come on lets see if we a get an MSF approved motorcycle training range in your local area.
