My name is Jeffrey L. Ritter (just call me Jeff). I was born May 11, 1968 in Fort Worth, Texas. My mom and dad were both employed by the Santa Fe Railroad. My dad was transferred to Topeka, Kansas when I was two years old. We lived there for 2 years. Then, we moved back to Richland Hills, TX-(a suburb of Fort Worth)- where I live now.
I attended Richland Elementary, Richland Junior HIgh, and Haltom High School. In High School, I enjoyed the band, history, english, and LUNCH. After graduating in 1986, I attended Texas Wesleyan University. I was active in the Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble, and almost every other musical group on campus. I was a member of the Honor Society, and submitted articles to the newspaper. I graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1991.
After graduation, I was employed as a Band Director in Whitney, TX. I was especially involved in the drum line, composing music, purchasing equipment, and holding rehearsals.
I decided that I wanted to do more with music and so I decided to pursue my Master's degree at the University of North Texas in Denton. I received my Master's of Music Education degree on May 10, 1997.
I received my second Master's degree - a Master of Education in Administration - in 1999.
I have completed my Instructional Leadership and Educational Administration endorsements, plus several hours toward my Doctorate (PH.D.) degree in Educational Computing.
Most recently, I completed my Certification for Principal, and my Advanced Technology Applications Certificate.
