The Congress Registration fee includes badge, tote bag, printed program, all sessions and regular courses,
entrance into the Exhibit Hall, and the Opening Ceremony and Cocktail. There will be an additional fee for
select courses and social events.
To register online you must provide full payment by VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. If you plan to send
a check or pay by wire transfer, please mail your registration form (click here for downloadable registration form, PDF file).
Resident/Fellow Registration Categories
Resident/Fellow registration category requires a letter of verification with dates of residency
to register. If you are a Resident/Fellow and register online, your letter of verification must be received
within 7 days of online registration or your registration will be cancelled. Please fax or mail verification

CME Credits
The American Academy of Ophthalmology is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to
provide continuing medical education to physicians.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology has agreed to provide a means for Academy members to earn CME credit for their
educational efforts, utilizing a long-standing Academy program, the Contract Learning Project.
It is essential that requests for Contract Learning Projects be received in advance of the Congress, no
later than January 31, 2005. Academy members planning to attend the XXV PAAO Congress should request
further information from the Clinical Education Division of the Academy by email (clinical_education@aao.org),
fax (415-561-8557) or phone (415-561-8536). Click here for information on how Academy members intending to participate in the Santiago PAAO
Congress might apply for a Contract Learning Project . Academy members wishing to earn CME credit through a
Contract Learning Project that includes the educational opportunities present at the 2005 PAAO Congress should
modify this example to address their specific situations.
Exhibit Hall
The Exhibit Hall will open Friday, March 18, 2005, at 8:00 AM.
Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony of the XXV Pan-American Congress of Ophthalmology will be held the evening of Friday,
March 18, 2005, and will be followed by a cocktail reception in the Exhibit area.
Fiesta Panamericana
The Fiesta Panamericana will be held Sunday night, March 20, 2005.

Submit a Scientific Paper, Poster or Video
The Scientific Program Committee is accpeting abstract submissions for scientific Papers (oral presentation), Posters, and Videos. Deadline for submission of Paper/Poster/Video abstracts has been extended to
November 5, 2004.
Click here to submit a paper or poster abstract online. Abstracts accepted as Scientific Papers for oral presentation must have a copy of the complete manuscript available for review by the paper discussant no later than February 8, 2005.

Cancellation & Reimbursement Policy
Cancellations and reimbursement requests must be made in writing. Congress registration reimbursements will be made
as follows:
- Cancellation on or before October 31, 2004 - Full refund less a US$50 administrative fee.
- Cancellation on or before February 15, 2005 - Refund of 50% of the registration fee.
- Cancellation after February 15, 2005 - No refund will be made after February 15, 2005.
Please note: the membership portion of the New/Renew registration fee and/or membership fees are
nonrefundable.
