The King's Quest series of games uses the debug command and interpreter for the programmers (up to KQIII) KQIV doesn't have it because of the tremendous size of the game. Have some fun and press the 'Alt' key, then 'D', then 'Return' or 'Enter' (I think twice), then type in either "GET OBJECT" (and type in a random #) or 'TP' for transport (and a random #) and see what happens. It works, and if you're tired of looking for a certain object, the 'Get Object' function works great! Neither of these cheats appears to work on the budget re-release of the game.

Go East and then North and clean the kitchen. Get the SPOON, KNIFE, BOWL, BREAD, MUTTON, and FRUIT. Now go South and get the CUP. Next, go West and then up. Wait until the manannan appears, then enter the mananans room. Go North and look at the mirror. Then open the drawer and open the closet. Look behind the clothes. Close the closet and look on top of it. Now open the drawer and you have found the MIRROR, MAP, KEY, and ESSENCE. Leave the room and go up. Look through the telescope. Get the FLY and then go down twice and then North. Open the cabinet and then go to the books and move them. Now pull the lever and go down twice, then look at the shelf. Get the POWDERED FISHBONE, NIGHTSHADE JUICE, MANDRAKE ROOT, POWDER, SAFFRON, TOAD SPITTLE, and TOADSTOOL POWDER. Now go up twice and pull the lever. Move the books and open the cabinet. Go South twice and open the chicken gate. Get the chicken and then get a FEATHER. Next, open the gate and go down the mountain to its base. There go West and show the MIRROR to Medusa. Go West and hit return when Medusa appears. Go South twice and get the CACTUS. Then go South twice again and get the SKIN. Go East and wait for eagle. Then get the FEATHER. Now go East and get some MUD by the river. Go East twice and then go into the water and get some WATER. Return to the beach and go North twice. Then climb the ladder and go West, then South. Get the MISTLETOE and go West. Open the door and go upstairs and open the drawer and get the THIMBLE. Now go down and get the PORRIDGE. Leave the house and look at the flowers. Get some DEW. Go West and then North and look in the hole. Grab the hole (maybe what's in the hole), and then go up. Get the PURSE and look at the map. Point to the village and press 'F6' to teleport there.

Now open the door and enter the store. Get some DOG HAIR and then look at the shelf. Buy a POUCH, some SALT, FISH OIL, and LARD. Now look at the map, and point to the base of the mountain. Press 'F6' to teleport there. Then go up to the house and open the door. Now go up and then East. Enter the upper right room and drop ALL. Get the FRUIT under the bed. Now go West, down, East, and then North and wait for the mannanan to appear. Then go South and give it the FRUIT. Now go West and up and then wait in front of the bedroom until he says he's taking a nap. Then go East and get the CAT. Now get some CAT HAIR and then re-enter the upper right room and re-get ALL. Go West, down, and North, then open the cabinet, move the books, and pull the lever. Then go down twice.

Look at the map, the teleport to the spider cave using 'F6'. Dip the EAGLE FEATHER in the ESSENCE and fly into the web. Now enter the cave, then leave it and go West. Listen to the birds, then go North twice and West. Next, wait until the acorns are dry, then get some ACORNS. Go East, North, and again dip the EAGLE FEATHER in ESSENCE and fly up to the house. Tell the eagle to return alone (be gone) and then open the gate. Next open the door and go North and pull the lever, then move the books. Open the cabinet and go South, up, and East. Put the COOKIE in the PORRIDGE. Now drop ALL. Get the PORRIDGE and go West, down, East, North, and wait until the mananan returns. Then go South and give the PORRIDGE to the mananan. Now go West, up, East, and get ALL. Go West, down, North, and open the cabinet. Move the book and pull the lever, then go down twice.

1. Grind a spoonful SALT in a mortar.
2. Grind the MISTLETOE in the mortar.
3. Rub the stone in the mixture.
4. Kiss the stone.
5. Recite this verse:
   • "With this kiss, I thee impart,
   • power most dear to my heart.
   • Take me now from this place hither,
   • to another place far thither.

2. Put the acorn powder in a bowl
3. Put the NIGHTSHADE JUICE in the bowl
4. Stir the mixture with a spoon
5. Light a charcoal brazier

   • nightshade juice like bitter wine,

Look at the map and then press 'F6' to teleport to the village. Open the door to the tavern and look at the sailors. Give the GOLD to the captain. Leave the tavern and go East twice and then step aboard. Go East and get the BOX. Next go West and drop the BOX. Now jump on the BOX and then jump on the ladder. Go up, West, and open and look in the chest. Then close the chest and go East, and get the SHOVEL. Go West, down, and West, and wait until land is in sight and the anchor is down. Now pour the SLEEP POWDER on the floor and slumber. Henceforth jump on the box, jump on next box, jump on the ladder, and go up twice. Go East and dive into the sea. Swim to the island. Go East, North, South, and look in the tree. Count 5 steps to the East from the center of the tree and dig. Go North, East, West, and climb the rock. Now go East, North, and East, and dip the EAGLE FEATHER in the ESSENCE. Go North, East twice, and South. Go down to reach the first cave on the left. Then go down to the middle cave below and enter the cave. Go up to the middle of the screen and you will come out of the cave on the right side of the screen. Go East twice, then South, and enter the cave. Climb the stairs and as soon as you exit the cave, rub the OINTMENT on yourself. Go West and stir the storm brew with your finger. Brew of storms, churn it up. Talk to Rosella and then untie her. Now go East and enter the cavern. Then down twice and then West, and North twice. The end!
