Remember that the Keller High School Society for Performing Arts (drama club) meets after school on the second Tuesday of each month. The Thespian Troupe #4169 meets immediately after the club meeting.

Keller High School Theatre Department has been recognized as one of the outstanding theatre departments in the state of Texas and has been awarded "Institutional Membership" by the Texas Educational Theatre Association. Contratulations to the directors and students for their continued success and dedication to quality theatre in Texas.

The KHS Theatre department is proud to announce the arrival of our newest faculty member in the department. Coming from teaching at the Granbury High School Theatre,Mr. Chris Williamson, is our new Theatre Arts 1 and Technical Theatre director. He comes to us with great recommendations and much experience. Many of you caught him in the long-running show "Forever Plaid" in Fort Worth. (He was the one who got a bloody nose). Welcome to Mr. Williamson. He has been a great success so far!

Mrs. Helen Lewis was awarded the 2001 Founders Award from The Texas Educational Theatre Association for her outstanding contributions to the organization. She was named Keller High School Teacher of the Year for the 1998-99 school year. Congrats! She will serve her teacher sorority Alpha Delta Kappa/Sigma Chapter as corresponding secretary for the next year. She teaches Theatre Arts 1-4 and Theatre Production.

Ms. Margaret Rodgers has left the KHS theatre department She will continue to teach at Keller High School but has moved to the English department where she is teaching senior English. She is very excited about her new position and her new room. We will miss her many contibutions to theatre department, but wish her well in her new position.

The One-Act Play placed third at competition. Kristin Cox and Virginia Jarrell were named to Honorable Mention All-Star Cast as were Emily Savage and Ryan Bickmore named to All-Star Cast. Congratulations!

The Theatre troupe's entry into the 2001 Homecoming Parade won Best Spirit entry. This is the fourth year in a row that the drama club has won an outstanding parade award. Congratulations on the great display of school spirit!

KHS Theatre troupe was invited to perform at California's Universal Studios "Lights, Camera, Music" last June. We were the first theatrical group ever invited to perform in their well-respected fine arts program. The trip to California and the experience of the performance at Universal was a memory not soon to be forgotten. Congratulations for yet another achievement!
