PLMU11 UNIVERSAL 3 PHASE VOLTAGE MONITOR

Why Choose the PLMU11?

  • Universal Replacement Part
  • More Features and Lower Costs Than
    Some Popular Competitive Models
  • Easy-Set Knob Adjustment Eliminates
    Installation Guesswork

Benefits of Stocking PLMU11:

  • Reduce Product Inventory
  • Reduce Customer Downtime
  • Reduce Counter Training
  • Easy-to-Use Cross Reference Card

One Part Number Does It All

The SSAC model PLMU11 monitors phase-to-phase voltages from 200 to 480V, 50/60 Hz including 380 to 415 V, 50 Hz. All of this is made possible by the unique micro-controlled, auto-ranging input. The PLMU11 automatically senses the line voltage range. Easy-set knob adjustments allow you to select the nominal set point, percent of unbalance protection, and trip delay

Replace with Confidence

Some of the most popular competitive models offer fewer features but cost significantly more. Many only have a single adjustment knob which means they are harder to set accurately. SSAC's easy-set design allows the user to point the knob arrow at the value indicated on the motor's name plate. No guesswork, no turning knobs and watching LED's to get an approximate set point.

One Size Fits All

All of this flexibility allows this one relay to have the potential to replace almost 100 individual line monitors on the market provided by 20 separate manufactures!

Competitive Brands Don't Want This Information to Get Out

Any maintenance organization or electrical distributor who services an industry that utilizes three phase voltages has to consider the PLMU11 as a vital addition to their stocking package; regardless of which brand they normally carry. There will always be emergencies and unforeseen requirements involving line monitoring. When the benefits of cost savings from reduced inventories and the reduction in lost time are considered, it makes sense to have the PLMU11 on the shelf.

Markets and Applications

There are numerous OEM's in the compressor, elevator, and pumping industry who presently specify SSAC line monitoring relays. Those same manufactures support a wide array of factory authorized sales and service locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. There are already some of those locations which are utilizing the PLMU11 as a standard service item. There are many more locations out there who are not aware of the potential for cost saving, and the versatility this design can offer their business. Most of the competitive brands are scrambling to prevent this information from reaching into their outlets for the obvious reason of losing market share for their designs.

Some of the many locations and applicable equipment requiring three phase line monitor protection, either by code, OEM specification, or vital operation are listed below. A few of these locations would be considered multiple coverage sites. For example, a hospital could include elevators, fire pumps, lift stations, HVAC equipment, compressed gases, back-up power, compactors, and fans.

Required by Code

The Code for People Movers and Short Distance Trnasportation reads as follows:

ASME A17.1-1990
Rule 210.6 Phase-Reversal and Failure Protection Elevators having polyphase alternating current power supply shall be provided with a means to prevent the starting of the elevator motor if the phase rotation is in the wrong direction, or if there is a failure of any phase.

This protection shall be considered to be provided if a reversal of phase of the incoming polyphase alternationg current power will not cause the elevator driving machine motor to operate in the wrong direction.

A cross reference card with a list of the most popular manufactures and part numbers that the PLMU11 can replace is being provided for authorized counter sales groups. This card is intended to aid them in providing the best service possible. Also a similar label with some of the most popular part numbers of reference will be affixed to the outside of the PLMU11 box to further assure the end user they are getting the required part.
