NOTE: These are websites that offer tons of material for believers in a variety of areas -or- are otherwise broader in their offering of resources. Due to this fact, it would be an injustice to attempt to categorize them into one of the specific categories. Therefore, I have created this category. These websites will keep you busy for days on end!
Desiring
God Ministries - This
is the online presence of John Piper, author and pastor of Bethlehem Baptist
Church. Piper is fast becoming one of my favorite Bible teachers. Piper
puts the JOY back into Christianity (and even Calvinism!) with his central
maxim: "God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied
in Him." The resources available here will ignite a passionate
fire in your heart for God and His glory. Piper's site includes many online
articles and audio sermons as well. MUST SEE x2!
In
Christ Alone! Ministries - The
ministry of Bernie L. Gillespie, a former United Pentecostal minister (23
years) who now stands solid in the Gospel of Grace. The main focus of this
site is the propogation and defense of the glorious Gospel - salvation
by grace alone, through faith alone, and in Christ alone. "It
is the mission of in Christ Alone! Ministries (ICA!M) to encourage a reawakening
of the Gospel or Good News of Jesus Christ in the hearts of all people.
Our conviction is that this comes through proclaiming the Word of God.
It is through hearing the Gospel that others will trust in Jesus Christ
and receive assurance through the proclaimed Word that they are right with
God." Online resources include many great articles (including
some wonderful testimonies) and a newsletter (free subscription available;
current issue online). I use to list this site elsewhere, but the amount
of available resources here has grown to such an extent that I decided
to move it here. MUST SEE.
Lambert
Dolphin's Site - Lambert
Dolphin explores areas that few
do; some trivial, some major - but all interesting! A physicist, Lambert
provides good solid articles on scientific topics. There are also good
articles on Bible themes and passages, theological issues, and philosophical
concepts. This site has tons of guest articles by others and features one
of the most comprehensive link pages I have yet seen. Some of the material
here is a bit sensationalistic at times, but there is much more good than
bad. MUST SEE.
Edward
Fudge Ministries - The
author of The
Fire That Consumes,
a Biblical reconsideration of the final
destiny of the lost. Edward's gracEmail newsletters are excellent
bits of what I consider "devotionals for thinkers."
Edward's attitude is a shining example of Christian charity and, even if
you disagree with him, you will find it impossible to be angry. Many of
Edward's books and articles are online, as well as all 800 gracEmails.
In addition, you will also find some good Bible studies and worship resources.
MUST SEE.
Leadership
University - I
never see this website linked anywhere - and I don't know why. This is
one of the most comprehensive Christian sites I have seen! An interdisciplinary
approach is taken, all within the context of the Christian worldview. Science,
theology, humanities, culture ... you name it, it's all here. The articles
are meticulously thorough and written by experts in their fields. Although
very comprehensive, this site is also well organized and easy to navigate.
MUST SEE.
Grace
to You - This
is the web presence of the ministry of John MacArthur, pastor of Grace
Community Church. There are some good resources here (articles, downloads,
an online devotional, Q&A, etc.), and MacArthur is one of the best
Bible teachers out there in our day.
Gospel
Communications Network - A
very large Christian umbrella site featuring tons of resources. The best
sites under this umbrella are linked below under appropriate headings.
Xenos
Christian Fellowship - An
awesome church offering some
of the best online helps for believers. Bible studies, articles, and some
great charts on Bible topics. Great "back to the basics"
help for new & old believers alike.
The
Jeremiah Project - This
site could have gone into almost any category, but I thought it would be
most appropriately placed here. This site is very well-done, with much
material covering a wide range of subjects. A Christian worldview is stressed.
A pleasure to the eyes and to the mind and heart. NOTE:
I do not endorse all of the prophetic speculations of this website.
Audience
One Music - The
home site of Steve Camp Ministries. Steve is a veteren contemporary Christian
musician working for reform in the industry. From the site: "Where
the music is ministry: driven by mission, not by ambition; by mandate,
not by accolades; by love for the Master, not by the allurements of the
world."
The
Christian Missions Home Page - Every
resource imaginable on missions, missionaries, and being a "world
Christian." Interdenominational.
Wycliffe
Bible Translators - This
is one of the most important ministries there is, taking on the challenge
of giving the Scriptures to every people group worldwide - in their
own language! On this official site you can learn all about the organization
and their work, access world prayer information, download games and a screensaver,
view their catalog, and read various articles covering Bible translation
history and other related topics.
Child
Evangelism Fellowship® - Jesse
Overholtzer began this ministry years ago in order to do what very few
are doing: truly evangelize children. Inspired by the words of C.H. Spurgeon
- "A child of five, if properly instructed, can as truly believe
and be regenerated as an adult" - CEF offers ministry and resources
to this end.
Christian
Witness to Israel - FROM
THE SITE: "Christian
Witness to Israel is an international, interdenominational evangelistic
society dedicated to sharing the Good News of Jesus the Messiah with the
Jewish people." Good resources and instruction on witnessing
to Jews. NOTE:
I do not endorse the wholesale condemnation of so-called "replacement
theology."
The
Watchword - A
resource on revival, making available many writings on prayer and revival
topics. Resources include writings from Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield,
A.W. Tozer, Leonard Ravenhill, David Wilkerson, T. Austin Sparks, and many
more. CAUTION:
There are some writings here that I would not endorse completely,
such as those of Charles Finney. However, the vast majority of resources
are excellent.
Music
for the Church of God - A
great worship and hymn resource, with an emphasis on scriptural song (including
psalmody). Available resources include tools to help you sing all 150 Psalms
(wow!), and The Scottish Psalter of 1635. NOTE:
As a lover of worship styles both old & new, I greatly appreciate the
spirit of this organization: "The emphasis is on singing the
Psalms and other hymns based on the scriptures, but we have not excluded
other expressions of worship. Our prayer is that you will find our contents
useful and edifying."
Global
Evangelization Movement - Statistical
studies providing information on the state of world evangelization and
missions work among the unevangelized. Continually updated with the latest
information.
Barnabas
Ministries - This
is a missions outreach of the Charismatic Episcopal Church. FROM THE SITE:
"Barnabas Ministries was established in 1980 for the following
purpose: 'To encourage renewal in the Church, emphasizing a balance between
the Sacraments and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, while enhancing a greater
vision of Mission.'"
The
Caleb Project - This
is the organization that originated Perspectives, a revolutionary
course in world missions. The material is packed with vital information
on indigenous missions work and Christian interaction within various culture
groups.
Bridges
International - Dr.
David Aikman (TIME magazine's bureau chief in Beijing) said, "I
think reaching out to students from the People's Republic of China in (the
West) is simply the most strategically important Christian missionary endeavor
anywhere in the world." A need was recognized and this ministry
stepped up to the challenge - "A Specialized Christian Outreach
to Mainland Chinese Intellectuals at Universities in Western Nations."
JAF
Ministries - This
is the disability outreach of Joni Eareckson Tada, "Accelerating
Christian Ministry in the Disability Community." Joni is a
shining example of overcoming faith in our Sovereign God that stands in
stark contrast to much of the heretical teaching coming from the "health
& wealth gospel." Joni has assembled some good resources
here (including some of her articles), focusing on ministry to the disabled.
NOTE: In addition to these sites, many of the sites linked in the SOVEREIGN GRACE SITES section contain online works by the Reformers, Puritans, early Baptists, and others.
The
American Chesterton Society - "Common
Sense for the World's Uncommon Nonsense." G.K. Chesterton was
one of the most profound Christian thinkers who ever lived, a brilliant
apologist who expressed the faith in his arguments, his writing, and even
his poetry ("The Donkey" rocks). Here you will
find an introduction to one of C.S. Lewis' heroes of the Faith, biographical
information, a bibliography, quotations, links, and an internet crash course
on Chesterton. MUST SEE.
Fire
& Ice - A
large collection of sermons from various Puritans, including Richard Baxter
and John Flavel. The Puritans were not the stuffy hypocrites so often talked
about. Dare to read their writings and discard the stereotypes. This site
is a rich resource for all believers. Discover the
Puritans!
The
Spurgeon Archive - The
largest collection of Spurgeon's writings on the web - by a long stretch.
Charles Spurgeon was one of the greatest preachers in all of Church history,
and certainly one of the most quoted. Another great internet resource from
Phil Johnson. MUST SEE.
William
Tyndale Homepage - Resources
include historical and biographical information, some of Tyndale's writings
(with more coming, I hope), a free quarterly newsletter - Letters From
Exile, and information on Jack Caulfield's play Fire for the Ploughman
- on the life of Tyndale.
The
Newton Library - Converted
slave-trader John Newton wrote the most famous hymn of all time - Amazing
Grace. In God's wonderful providence, this hymn is today the most often
sung hymn in African-American churches. But Newton was also a preacher
and writer skilled in the scriptures. Here are many of his writings, and
some detailed biographical information. Nice looking site. MUST SEE.
Unity
in Diversity
- This
website is dedicated to the writings of the late W. Carl Ketcherside, a
prophetic voice within the Restoration Movement (Church of Christ/Disciples/Christian
Church) who fought legalism and sectarianism, preaching the Gospel.
Reformation
Ink - A ton
of Reformation works are available here: Theodore Beza, James Buchanan,
Calvin, John Bradford, Thomas Cranmer, A.A. Hodge, Charles Hodge, Luther,
Abraham Kuyper, J. Gresham Machen, Augustus Toplady, Geerhardus Vos, B.B.
Warfield, and many others. In addition, many offsite resources are listed
as well. Well organized site.
Pilgrim
Publications - My
friends here in Texas! Pilgrim is the largest publisher of the works of
Charles Spurgeon. A literal feast
of Charles Spurgeon
stuff, as well as articles by Bob Ross, stateside "expert"
on Spurgeon. Bob has also been engaging the errors of traditional Campbellism
(mainly Churches of Christ) for many years now, both in public debate and
in print.
The
Shelter - This
website is devoted to the late Francis Schaeffer, a brilliant apologist
who was way ahead of his time. Includes biographical information, comprehensive
information on all of Schaeffer's writings (including summaries and quotes),
a free weekly e-mail list, a great selection of thinker's articles dealing
with various aspects of Schaeffer's life and thought, a section of photographs,
and information on L'abri (the retreat/think-tank founded by Schaeffer).
L'abri is French for "the shelter." MUST SEE.
Dave
Clark's Home Page - Some
great online works by Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, Bonar, Packer, Girardeau,
Edwards, and others. Those writings posted focus on the theological and
practical aspects of Calvinism.
Audio-Bible
- Alexander Scourby's
classic reading of the King James Version of the Bible, all online and
ready to listen to in real-audio (free 72 hours).
The
Arthur Custance Library -
Custance was truly
brilliant. A scientist and lay theologian,
his writings probe areas where it was thought that nothing further could
be gleaned. Although a proponent of the "gap theory,"
his writings contain good information for Biblical creationists. Custance
was degreed in both anthropology and oriental languages, bringing both
of these disciplines to bear in his excellent studies of the scriptures.
Online here, The
Sovereignty of Grace is easily
the best book of this century on Calvinism. Custance is easily one of my
top five influences. MUST SEE.
Guide
to Christian Literature on the Internet -
ICL's mammoth list of online Christian writings.
Although some of the sites no longer exist, and apparently this list is
not updated anymore, it is still worth visiting due to its massive size
-- I have found many a obscure gem through this list! MUST SEE.
Alfred
Edersheim Collection - Excellent
resource material from a nineteenth century scholar. Includes The Jerusalem
Temple and Service, Sketches of Jewish Social Life , and Bible
History (Old Testament).
Springs
Of Living Water Tape Library - A
unique ministry that lends out teaching cassettes (maximum = four at a
time) by mail for a period of three weeks; return two tapes and get two
more. Some good ones offered include: Malcolm Smith, the Bible on tape
(many styles/readings), topical Scripture readings, Jay Adams, Donald Barnhouse,
Chuck Colson, Joni Eareckson, Elizabeth Elliot, Keith Green, Os Guinness,
Hank Hannagraaf, Kent Hovind, Dave Hunt, D. James Kennedy, C.S. Lewis,
Max Lucado, John MacArthur, Walter Martin, Josh McDowell, Henry Morris,
Frank Peretti, Leonard Ravenhill, and many children's tapes. DISCLAIMER:
This ministry offers many different teachers from many different backgrounds.
I do NOT endorse all of these teachers. Mixed in with the above is everyone
from Paul Cho to William Branham - so be discerning!
Leonard
Ravenhill Site - I
cut my spiritual teeth on Leonard's books! I can still remember reading
portions of Sodom Had No Bible to a men's prayer group when I was
16 years old. Check out this site, then go find all of his books!
Rich's
Home Page of Reformed Theology -
A massive amount of online material
from Reformed teachers: Boston, Boettner, Charnock, Flavel, Gill, Hodge,
Mauro, Owen, Pink, Toplady, Whitefield, etc. Also some works of more recent
Reformed teachers like Horton, Sproul, and Woodrow.
Institute
of Practical Bible Education -
An archive list of links to many online works,
including Calvin's commentaries and various Puritan writings.
Into
the Wardrobe - A
really good C.S. Lewis site that opens with the endorsement of the late
author's stepson, Douglas Gresham. Links to various articles & websites
dealing with Lewis and his works.
The
Grace Online Library - Many
works by authors like A.W. Pink, Van Til, Warfield, Ryle, Bunyan, Whitefield,
Moody, and also modern authors. Most of the works here are first-rate,
and are available in HTML and/or PDF formats. DISCLAIMER: The "tone"
of this site is just a bit too "fundamentalist Baptist"
for my taste (cessation of the so-called "sign gifts,"
holding that there is a "Christian Sabbath," etc.),
but this only applies to a tiny portion of what is available here; most
of it is quite good and should be required reading for modern believers.
The
Dorothy Sayers Society - Learn
about this friend of C.S. Lewis. She was a mystery novelist, Anglican Christian,
and theologian.
Times
Square Pulpit - The
author of The
Cross and the
Switchblade is
now in New York City pastoring Times Square Church and
delivering powerful practical messages for
us all. David Wilkerson is a veteran Pentecostal preacher with a passion
for holiness and God's glory. David's messages have also appeared in the
Free Grace Broadcaster, and his endorsements have been used by Banner
of Truth promoting the writings of the Puritans.
Project
Wittenberg - An
online collection of the writings of Reformer Martin Luther.
Martyn
Lloyd Jones Recording Trust -
One of the greatest preachers of our century!
Online catalog of audio sermons. M.L. Jones impressed me early on when,
as a Reformed preacher, he took a stand AGAINST the popular "cessation
of the charismata" position. Online material includes some
articles and a newsletter.
Calvin's
Institutes - John
Calvin's classic Institutes of the Christian Religion online. Also
links to other Calvin writings (including the great commentaries) and some
great articles about Calvin.
John
Stott Ministries - Anglican
Christian, and prominent evangelical author. Two e-mail lists, the Stott
Daily Thought and the Stott Bible Study, are available for free
(I subscribe to the latter and it is excellent). You can also read selections
from Stott's writings arranged by topic. Good material here.
The
Summa Theologica of St. Thomas Aquinas -
Aquinas' Summa Theologica
remains one of the most comprehensive theological texts available. Aquinas
wrote some DEEP stuff - If you find yourself re-reading parts of this,
join the club! Using hypothetical questions/responses, Aquinas plumbs the
depths of Christian truth in the style of a great philosopher.
NOTE: The websites linked below feature material that is a bit "deeper" in its content. Just don't be fooled by big words! There is good stuff on these sites, but measure everything by God's Word.
Engedi
Ministries - Solid
Reformed theology and Church history is presented lovingly in understandable
presentations. Several tape sets are available, and they will mail you
the first tape from any (or all) of their series absolutely free - take
advantage of this offer (you won't be sorry). I have heard many of these
teaching tapes and they are excellent (very well presented). The website
also features a free weekly e-mail devotional (also excellent), an internet
forum, and several short Bible studies (both textual and topical).
Hasten
the Light - Dale
Tooley's insightful site majoring on prophecy issues. This Charismatic
ministry promotes the amillennial perspective with fresh, contemporary
articles. There are over 45 easy to understand studies, none over ten pages
in length.
Fides
Quarens Internetum - In
other words, the "Christian Theology Page." A unique
set of links to theology resources on the web.
Kenosis
- This is a great
site! Dan Musick, a Wheaton theology graduate, has built up a site focusing
on the humility of Christ (Phil'p. 2). This is a very important issue today,
as many Christians do not understand Christ's two natures, imagine that
Christ could have sinned, or think that Christ was somehow less than God
when He became man. Writings from Musick, and many categorized links are
woven together to present an excellent defense of the orthodox view over
the various heterodox ideas. MUST SEE.
Cedar
Park Church Online Resource Library - Featuring
the sermons, articles, and books of Pastor Joe Fuiten. Fuiten is an Assembly
of God minister steeped in the Church Fathers and Church history. His writings
are very thought-provoking from a Pentecostal perspective. He communicates
with a gracious and charitable attitude, and digs deep in his research.
The
Truth Is - Webmaster
Michael John presents an online "philosophy of theology,"
with a distinct Christological focus. John follows the principles of logical
deduction, leading the viewer through the nature of God to the nature of
man and finally to the coming of Christ. I don't agree with every detail
(e.g., his eschatology), but find his consistent presentation both interesting
and fascinating. He has also posted some debate material.
The
Thomas Pages - I
find the articles here among the most original that I have seen on the
web. Some of the ideas are unusual, but very thought-provoking.
In-Depth
Studies - The
online ministry of Geoff Volker, featuring (literally) tons of articles
covering every conceivable theological topic -- "Equipping
the believer with a theological foundation." There are also
book reviews, an open forum section, and a free e-newsletter. Reformed,
with a New Covenant perspective. MUST SEE.
Journal
for Christian Theological Research - An
excellent theological journal that is online here in its entirity. Requires
Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Pentecostal-Charismatic
Theological Inquiry Int'l. - Had
to abbreviate this one! A ton of online materials concerning Pentecostal/Charismatic
theology, including an online journal, newsletter, and massive set of links.
This is the internet motherlode for serious Pentecostal/Charismatic
research.
The
Berean Society International - The
ministry of Dr. John C. Shafer. There are some great articles here by Shafer
himself, as well as classic writings by the likes of Spurgeon and Tozer.
Also some recommended resources. "By God’s grace, we want to
begin with GOD, the Creator-Owner-Builder, and attempt to share these truths
by way of overview, building our MODEL starting with Genesis 1 'In the
beginning God - created the heaven and the earth.' To set forth the great
truths of Free and Sovereign Grace in the salvation of sinners in language
that seekers might know where to start in their search."
Alliance
of Confessing Evangelicals -
Here you will find online resources from the
likes of Michael Horton and the late Dr. James Boice, as well as a great
selection of Reformation quotes from Luther, Calvin, etc. Also, this site
houses the online version of Modern Reformation magazine. The ACE
is a major organization in the effort to restore Protestant theology to
evangelicalism. MUST SEE.
The
Internet Bible College - Lots
of interesting articles here. They also promote conditional immortality,
which I am a firm believer in :) There is also a link to another set of
pages (different web address) with more articles.
The
Wesley Center for Applied Theology -
Good material from a Wesleyan perspective
(NOTE: I was Wesleyan before I was Reformed). Includes the journal The
Arminian online, which often contains some good articles from a Wesleyan
perspective. Many of Wesley's writings, historical information, and the
writings of Arminius are online here.
The
Easter Page - Done
by a Lutheran church, this site is "a cyberspace journey through
scripture, art, music, prose and other materials which reflect on the mystery
and miracle of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ."
Very interesting and easy to navigate.
Keith
Drury's Writings -
These are GREAT articles with fresh, bold
insights - from a Wesleyan perspective. Keith's stuff hits both the theological
and the practical - often simultaneously (and that's how it really should
be). Keith is a very entertaining and witty writer! MUST SEE.
Mr.
D's Notes - This
is the site of Stanley L. Derickson, a seasoned minister and prolific author
with a passion for missions and Christian education. His "notes"
consist of several online and/or downloadable books, the original being
"Mr. D's Notes on Theology" -- presenting an online
systematic theology outlined by section. Others include "Notes
on Missions," "Notes on Regeneration,"
"Notes on 1 Timothy," and others. His "Notes
on Zeal" is especially helpful and is the only serious scriptural
study on zeal that I have personally seen anywhere. Very interesting reading!
Henry
Neufeld Homepage - An
unbiased site with religion links for opposing viewpoints. This is a good
place to access BOTH sides of an issue when doing research. NOTE:
It should go without saying that I do not endorse all of Neufeld's links
per se, but I do endorse his purpose. Christian research should always
be unbiased by very definition.
Contend
for the Faith - This
site contains some of the most thorough theological content I've yet seen
on the web. Plenty of articles and links in both theological and apologetic
categories. The presentation is meaty, but easy to grasp. Run by Justin
Taylor and Matt Perman. MUST SEE.
Model
Theology - Robert
Brow's website. Interesting. Different. Fresh perspectives. CAUTION:
I wouldn't endorse EVERYTHING on this site. Brow is an Arminian and endorses
both "wider hope" ideas and elements of process
theology.
The
Christia Library - This
site was a great discovery for me, and has provided hours of contemplative
reading. The two outstanding elements here are: (1) the sheer magnitude
of the material, and (2) the fact that the material features every conceivable
perspective from within Christendom. MUST SEE.
Center
for Reformed Theology & Apologetics -
A treasure trove of online Reformed books
and articles by such men as Bunyan, Machen, Bahnsen, Pink, and other Reformed
teachers past and present. Good apologetics materials from both Van Til
and Bahnsen.
A
Puritan's Mind - This
is a nicely designed site, and focuses mainly on information about the
Puritans. Reformed theology is explained, Puritan history is examined,
and several good articles are available. Two interesting sections cover
the call to pastoral ministry and the regulatory principle in Puritan worship.
The webmaster, C.M. McMahon, has the text of his book on limited atonement
online here. There is a discussion group, posted sermons/writings of the
Puritans, and some really cool t-shirts for sale here as well.
The
William Farel Society - Who
is William Farel? He was one of the lesser known French Reformers who participated
in the Calvinist part of the Protestant Reformation. This Australian site
is thoroughly Reformed and offers some great online articles, some study
links, and several books free to download.
Archegos:
the Champion - A
good basic site maintained by H. A. DuBose-Schmitt, Jr. (a.k.a., "Andrepar
Nome"). Online here are some concise descriptions of various
points of the Reformed faith, every major creed from the Apostles' Creed
to the present, some short prose inspired by Scripture and experience,
and a list of quotations.
His
By Grace - Great
Calvinist material from a Southern Baptist. Includes online works by the
likes of John Gill, John G. Reisinger, and James Boyce. Robbie, the webmaster,
also has some great stuff on Reformed distinctives and Southern Baptists.
I especially like his "What DID Jesus Do?"
page : )
Reign
of Grace Media Ministries - The
online ministry of Eager Avenue Grace Church (Albany, Georgia), featuring
many fine resources: sermons (text & audio), articles, Bible studies,
commentaries, an online newsletter, and much more.
Reformed
Methodist Homepage - This
site is dedicated to seeing Reformation in the United Methodist Church
along the lines of Whitefield. Provides news, resources, and links toward
that end. Some great online material from Lloyd-Jones and George Whitefield
is linked here.
Sound
of Grace - Tons
of great articles by John G. Reisinger and others. Good resources on justification,
sanctification, and assurance - all from the Reformed perspective. Features
a John Bunyan e-mail list, and archived sermons from John Piper (NOTE:
If you are not familiar with Piper, he is a brilliant expositor of the
Scriptures.) Also, be sure to check out the Bible
Commentary Project, a work-in-progress by members of the "bibleproject"
list group (open to subscribers). The current project is Hebrews, and is
a very interesting and original idea. Basically, each verse is commented
on separately by members of the list. Good for gaining various perspectives.
MUST SEE.
Coram
Deo - Literally,
"before the face of God." This is a great Reformed
resource featuring material on Francis Schaeffer, C.S. Lewis, George Whitefield,
and others. Also features a "Steve Camp Page."
Camp has long been one of my favorite musicians - his lyrics faithfully
express Reformed theology, and the music is contemporary without being
worldly.
The
Calvinist - This
is Peter Pike's website primarily dealing with different aspects of the
doctrines of grace. He has several of his articles posted that are well
worth reading. Features apologetics, theology, philosophy, and debate material.
Pike is a great guy and one of my treasured web acquaintances.
Sovereign
Grace Baptist Proclaimer - Lots
of good stuff from the webmaster, Arthur Pink, Philip Mauro, John Gill,
and others. One of the few sites I've found that features material from
Pink and Gill.
Calvin's
Castle - Very
useful sets of links, and some original onsite articles. DISCLAIMER:
In places the webmaster seems to be a bit of an exclusivist with his Calvinism
(i.e., non-Calvinist Christians are suspect).
Blessed
Hope Ministries -
A good Reformed Baptist site. "Setting
forth Biblical Christianity in a complex society—SIMPLY." Home
to the free online periodical Blessed Hope Monthly - basically a
Reformed anthology full of good stuff. Be sure to check out the online
Bible studies, which can be participated in through their Evangelical Discussion
List. Visit Evangelical Gleanings and Shiloh Library for
free books online for you to view and download.
The
Calvinist Corner - Very
clear and accurate presentation of
those doctrines called "Calvinism." One feature
here that pleases me is that the validity of the gifts of the spirit is
defended. This is a rarity for Calvinists, who have typically promoted
the "cessationist" position (unfortunately).
PDI
Ministries - I
rejoice to see increasing numbers of believers embracing the doctrines
of grace, but rejecting the (typically) Reformed position that the "charismata"
have somehow "ceased." This reminds us that no
tradition of our faith has ALL the truth across the board. Be sure and
check out their magazine, Sovereign Grace. Each issue is packed
with thorough articles on aspects of God's providence.
Solo
Christo - A
Reformed site with good online material. Features some original material
and a very well organized section of linked offsite articles by topic.
My favorite section is the Biblical Prophecy page, with links on
the various millennial positions.
Renewing
Your Mind -
The online home of R.C. Sproul's Ligonier
Ministries. Several issues of Sproul's magazine,
Table Talk, are also available here online. If you have never read
Sproul then you are in for a treat! Sproul treads the same ground as Luther
and Calvin, but with contemporary style. MUST SEE.
The
Highway -
A solid Reformed site with various articles
and a "creeds" download. Above all, do NOT visit
this site without checking out the online comparison of Calvinism and Arminianism.
The
Founders Online - Southern
Baptists promoting what many SBC churches have left behind - God's sovereignty
in salvation! "Founders Ministries is a ministry of teaching
and encouragement that seeks to promote both doctrine and devotion expressed
in the Doctrines of Grace and their experiential application to the local
church, particularly in the areas of worship and witness."
Many great articles and resources online here, including the Founder's
Journal. MUST SEE.
NOTE: Some good technical creationist material can also be found at both Lambert Dolphin's site and The Arthur Custance Library, both linked above.
The
Biblical Chronologist - The
website of Dr. Gerald Aardsma, author and researcher. This site presents
some interesting and original solutions to biblical historical questions.
Inquiries include the identity of the Exodus pharoah, the age of the earth,
the accuracy of radiocarbon dating, and the location of Noah's ark (not
the typical theory). Very interesting material. Features include a hardcopy
newsletter (free trial subscription) and a discussion group. Nicely designed
site.
The
Creation-Evolution Encyclopedia - A
very detailed resource covering the broad scope of creationist arguments
against evolution.
Creationism
Connection - Exactly
what it claims to be - an organized presentation of creationist resources,
combining the webmaster's material with scores of excellent links.
Creationism
& the Early Church -
Robert Bradshaw
has done some much needed research into what
the Christian Church from the death of the Apostle John to Augustine of
Hippo believed and taught regarding creation. Categorized links are provided
for personal research. The online material is fascinating, thorough and
presented in a well organized fashion. I love original stuff like this!
MUST SEE.
Origins
- Affiliated with
Leadership University: "This site features scholarly and popular
resources concerning intelligent design and philosophical theism."
The resources featured here are scholarly presentations concerning evolution,
atheism/theism, and intelligent design. Also includes interviews, book
reviews, and debates.
Access
Research Network - Features
many fine resources on origins, including articles by Philip Johnson, Michael
Behe, and others. This represents one of the think-tanks of the Intelligent
Design Movement, one of the best ways to approach the debate on origins.
Other resources include a quotes collection, graphics, and book reviews.
MUST SEE.
Institute
for Creation Research - The
mother of all creationist
organizations. Excellent materials from Henry Morris, John Morris, Duane
Gish, etc. These guys are bona fide scientists who believe in a literal
six-day creation by God roughly 6,000-10,000 years ago.
The
Virtual Office of Robert C. Koons - Koons
is the Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Texas in
Austin, and an opponent of naturalistic theories of origins. Included here
are some of his speeches and articles.
Dr.
Robert A. Herrmann -
A great Christian website from Dr. Herrmann,
who is the professor of mathematics at the United States Naval Academy.
The content here tends toward the technical side, but is very worthwhile
and informative. Includes Hermann's treatise against Hugh Ross' ideas,
though it is a tad extreme in some places (in my opinion).
Center
for Scientific Creation - The
bulk of this site is a complete online edition of Dr. Walter Brown's excellent
book, In the Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood.
This is a very thorough documented book covering every facet of creationism.
Also here is a full index for the book, some debate material and "20
Questions for Evolutionists." MUST SEE.
Answers
in Genesis - Another
veteran group that associates closely with ICR (above). The quarterly journal
Creation Ex Nihilo is the best I have seen and features many original
articles. Some of the best articles from each issue are on-line. MUST
SEE.
Creation
Research Society - A
very good selection of on-line articles. This organization puts out another
excellent journal.
The
Genesis Network - The
Missouri association for Creation (also known as Gennet), "Networking
the Scientific Evidences of Genesis." Many online articles
are available under "Get the Facts," and materials
(including videos) can be borrowed through the Life Origins Library for
a small membership fee.
General Apologetics --- NOTE: These websites contain either 1) apologetics material of a general nature (existence of God, superiority of Christianity, etc.), -or- 2) material dealing with several specific issues and groups. The websites in the other sub-categories below focus primarily on one specific issue/group/teaching.
Christian
Research Institute Journal - CRI
Journal archives. These articles
are excellent and cover almost every deviation from orthodox Christianity,
as well as "new" but questionable trends in theology.
Included are some articles by the late Walter Martin, the one who took
apologetics out of the classroom and into the hands of "joe
christian." MUST SEE.
The
Christian Research Institute - The
largest apologetics ministry, founded by the late Walter Martin and now
headed by Hank Hanagraff. Many good resources now online here.
Debate
Atheism -
This site is a ministry of my internet
friend, Peter Pike. "Are you a freethinker? Are you a theist?
Are you agnostic? Or are you just confused?! This site exists to help you
learn more about why logic and reason point to the existence of God."
Features debates, material on atheism and related topics (Bible criticisms,
abortion, evolution), suggested reading, and a Q & A section.
Walter
Martin's Religious Infonet - Martin's
writings and broadcasts live on this website! Good material from the late
apologist on mormonism, ministry to cults, various Christian issues, and
more. Also includes some great online audio messages from Martin and others.
Meekness
& Truth - Greg
Meece, who is involved with this ministry, alerted me to this site which
features work by Dave Geisler, son of Norman Geisler. This site is special
in its focus, to "Bring apologetics back into the mainstream
of Christian thought and evangelism." The emphasis is on practical
apologetics and dialogue with skeptics.
William
Lane Craig Virtual Office - One
of the most brilliant apologists of our time. Includes information on Craig
and his writings, as well as online debates and articles. Craig's writings
focus on demonstrating the arguments for God's existence, and addressing
"the historical Jesus" controversy.
Watchman
Fellowship - One
of the most organized apologetics mega-sites there is. Scores of articles
from the Watchman Expositor on various cults, sects, teachers, and
teachings. The best feature is their encyclopedia style Index of Cults,
updated annually - a very helpful resource.
Does
God Exist? - The
focus of this site is apologetic in nature, the main feature being John
N. Clayton's wonderful journal Does God Exist? Each issue contains articles
on various topics of Christian concern, as well as evidence for the existence
of God and the inspiration of Scripture. One of my favorite features in
the journal is the section entitled "Dandy Designs,"
which gives detailed information on a couple of designs in creation in
each issue - fascinating stuff that points to a Designer.
Point/Counterpoint
- Now this
is a different approach. An online scholarly journal featuring articles,
debates & interviews from many different religious & philosophical
perspectives. The webmasters are Christians who believe that an honest
quest for truth leads to theism, and specifically to Christianity. A very
objective journal. Intellectually stimulating material. MUST SEE.
Truth
& Things - This
is the website of Carmen C. DiCello, pastor of Word of Life Baptist Church
in Pottsville, Pa. There is also more general material here, but most of
the articles are apologetics oriented. DiCello has posted some very thought-
provoking articles on relevant issues, doing so in both a gentle spirit
and a non-threatening tone. Whatever you do, don't leave his site without
reading "The Athenian Challenge: Lessons from Acts 17:16-34"
- good stuff!
free-gifts.com
- Although
somewhat limited, this site is good basic apologetics (covers Catholicism,
JWs, Nation of Islam, etc.). The descriptions are "to the point."
You won't find any 25 page booklets to wade through, which in some cases
wastes valuable time. There is a strong emphasis here for those deceived
by false doctrine.
Christian
Apologetics & Research Ministry -
Matthew Slick's meticulously resarched apologetics
site. Lots of information: doctrine, counter-cult, etc. One of the best
Christian sites out there, especially to be run almost entirely by one
person. Check out the " Dictionary of Theology." Features
27 discussion boards (Matt, where do you get the time?). MUST SEE.
Christian
Information Ministries - Bill
Crouse's ministry based here in Texas. The resources available here are
limited, but worth viewing. Includes several concise briefing papers on
everything from ecology to B.F. Skinner, as well as book and movie reviews.
Bill is very gracious and even-handed when dealing with areas of controversy
among believers.
Ravi
Zacharias International Ministries -
One of the best apologists out there. Ravi
& staff produce high quality material "to reach and challenge
those who shape the ideas of culture with the credibility of the gospel
of Jesus Christ." Online articles and a good archive of real-audio
messages. MUST SEE.
Alpha-Omega
Ministries - James
White's site, featuring much online material on cults, Catholicism, the
KJV-only controversy, Calvinism, and the Trinity. White has authored several
great books dealing with these subjects, and is a frequent guest on Hank
Hanegraaff's Bible Answer Man broadcast.
Reasoning
from the Scriptures - This
is the website of Dr. Ron Rhodes, currently adjunct professor of theology
at Biola University, Southern Evangelical Seminary, and Golden Gate Seminary.
Features a number of articles dealing with cults & other apologetics
issues. Dr. Rhodes has also posted answers to visitor's questions, and
produces a good online newsletter.
The
Home Page of Greg & Rose Welty - Greg,
a student of Philosophical Theology at Oxford University, provides several
articles covering theological, philosophical, and apologetic issues. Very
deep stuff, and guaranteed to make you think.
Personal
Freedom Outreach - One
of my favorite ministries exposing false teaching in the Church. Many articles
from their Quarterly Journal are online. Included are refutations
of Benny Hinn, Rebecca Brown, extreme charismatic practices, mormonism,
etc. NOTE: I
do not agree with every criticism presented by this organization (e.g.,
the critique of the Alpha Course is skewed and unfair).
Stand
to Reason - Great
apologetics site, featuring the careful research of Gregory Koukl, Steve
Wagner, and Scott Klusendorf. Several articles dealing with biblical and
social issues are online. The resources dealing with ethical relativism
and abortion are especially helpful.
Apologetics
Index - An
in-depth encyclopedia-style resource on sects/issues/teachers/doctrines,
featuring a color-coded system identifying topics/teachers against the
background of Christian orthodoxy. The entries are not just the typical
brief descriptions, but factor in up-to-the-minute news items as well.
A regular "AI Update" is available by e-mail subscription.
There are also good articles on Christian living and spiritual renewal.
Full index of cult groups and religious movements. This is one of the most
useful apologetics sites on the web. MUST SEE.
Probe
Ministries - A
good apologetics ministry that goes deeper than just the cults and sects
themselves to look at the underlying philosophies deceiving many in our
modern culture. MUST SEE.
The
Berean Call - The
official site for Dave Hunt's
newsletter. NOTE:
I am in extreme disagreement with both the anti-Calvinism and the dispensationalism
continually promoted by Hunt. I include this site because, despite these
flaws, Hunt still does a good job on other fronts.
Consider
Christianity - A
nicely designed site that defends Christianity for what it is - "a
faith based on facts." This site's theme is the promotion of
"Consider Christianity Week," offering instruction
on getting your church involved. Also featured is an online discussion
forum. The Library section contains some good material on the Trinity,
the inerrancy of Scripture, the "KJV-only" controversy,
Christ's Deity, universalism, and other apologetics topics.
The
Office of Shandon L. Guthrie -
The original material on this site is explosive
in the extreme. Guthrie brings fresh perspectives and insight to a number
of important subjects. Material deals with atheism, mormonism, relativism,
and various social issues. NOT simply a rehash of typical material.
The
Irenaeus Foundation - A
growing site featuring the apologetics of Jeff Spencer and Scott Henderson.
Articles tackle the problem of evil, cultic views of Jesus, errors of the
Dake Annotated Reference Bible, and other important topics. NOTE:
I like the material on this site, but disagree with Spencer on his "The
Annihilation of Hell" article. This site is also home to the
excellent apologetics journal, The Overcomer.
Gospel
Outreach Ministries Online - Many
articles covering the Gospel and refuting various false teachings -- including
universalism, baptismal regeneration, heretical Christologies, and secular
humanism. Also some great material on the Trinity (although they go too
far in their denunciation of "systematic theology"),
and the Word of Faith Movement.
Institute
for Religious Research - Great
resources here "for investigating today's competing religious
claims." Although the amount of material here is still somewhat
sparse, the articles provide important critique of cults/teachings covering
specifics not usually dealt with in more general treatments.
Mormonism ---
Word
for the Weary - Lots
Mormon prophet Brigham Young (1873) said to "Take up the Bible,
compare the religion of the Latter-day Saints with it, and see if it will
stand the test." This site features the work of a qualified
team of researchers who have taken up Brigham's challenge. Focused on reaching
those trapped in the LDS, Word for the Weary offers great resources "Answering
the Challenge of Mormonism from a Biblical Perspective."
Utah
Lighthouse Ministry - The
ministry of Jerald and Sandra Tanner, both ex-LDS. The Tanners go out of
their way to give accurate information documenting the problems
with LDS theology, and refuting Mormon claims. Their meticulous research
can be found here to help you reach your LDS neighbors. MUST SEE.
Seventh-Day Adventists ---
Good
News Unlimited - The
ministry of Roy Gee and Desmond Ford. Great articles on the more controversial
aspects of Seventh-Day Adventism from these men, one of them (Ford) himself
an Evangelical Seventh-Day Adventist. The ministry is interdenominational
and has a strong emphasis on salvation by grace, providing more general
material as well. Includes Q&A, a message board, and an online magazine.
See the GNU Australia
site for some good articles written for SDAs.
Judaism ---
CJF
Ministries - This
is the website of the Christian Jew Foundation. Very well-written and informative
articles addressing Judaism and Christianity, and answering various Bible
questions. Don't miss this one.
Of
Whom Do the Prophets Speak - This
site carefully examines the Old Testament Scriptures concerning the Messiah.
Along the way, it is demonstrated that these prophecies were fulfilled
in Jesus. This is a must-see apologetics resource that is packed with vital
information (including ancient Jewish sources). The beautiful illustrations
accompanying each text are a bonus!
Islam ---
IslamReview
- Coptic Christian
Abdullah al-Araby's Christian critique of
Islam. Several articles cover many details of Islam from a Christian perspective.
Also includes testimonials, audio files, news items, and other resources.
MUST SEE.
Answering
Islam - The
most comprehensive website dealing with Islam from a Christian perspective,
and with a distinctly evangelistic motivation. The articles and other resources
here address every facet of Islamic theology and practice in detail. MUST
SEE.
The
Good Way - A
nicely dsigned evangelistic site that seeks to share the Gospel with Muslims,
using Arabic terminology and addressing Islamic issues - often with the
Muslim's own scriptures (the Quran). The tone of the site is very non-threatening
and gracious (but uncompromising).
Encouraging Reform Movements ---
Christianity
Reexamined (WWCG) -
Great site concerning the major
transformations that have occured within the Worldwide Church of God in
recent years. Most interesting is that the webmaster was a member of the
WWCG BEFORE the changes and is still a member now! Read as John
contrasts the house that HE built with the house that Jesus built (i.e.,
works vs. faith). MUST SEE.
CCLEC
(Episcopal) -
The Episcopal Church has been falling
fast for some time now, denying Orthodox doctrine and practice at every
opportunity. Nevertheless, there yet remains a company within her that
has not "bowed the knee to Baal." This is the website
of the Concerned Clergy & Laity of the Episcopal Church, a group
standing firm for orthodoxy within the Episcopal Church. Features online
articles by such teachers as John Stott and Peter Toon.
The
First Promise (Episcopal)
- Another
Episcopal group dedicated to the promise "to remain loyal to
the doctrine, discipline and worship of Jesus Christ as this Church has
received them ... " Includes an online articles and news section
which comments on various issues within the Anglican Church.
Beacon
(EX-JW) -
Overseen by an ex-Jehovah's Witness as a "beacon"
for former members of the Watchtower organization. Contains material by
various ex-JWs evaluating various JW doctrines and/or practices and offering
different perspectives. Not all of the contributors are entirely "orthodox"
nor "evangelical." However, they are out from under
Watchtower tyranny and open to God and to the Scriptures. Concerning the
doctrines that they DO critique, tell me, what better source could be found?
Freedoms
Ring (CofC) -
This is the website of Cecil Hook's
ministry. Cecil is a commited believer within the Churches of Christ. His
focus is the promotion of grace and liberty in opposition to legalistic
bondage. There is much good material posted here, including hundreds of
past articles by Edward Fudge and others. MUST SEE.
The
Living Stone (CofC)
- Many
articles with a strong emphasis on grace, brotherly love, true worship,
and the NT church as a community of believers.
Afrocentric Theology
The
Truth About Kwanzaa - Carlotta
Morrow is an African-American woman with guts, that's for sure. Her "family
involvement with the creator of Kwanzaa, Dr. Maulana Karenga, led to the
uncovering of some amazing facts. The author reveals the contradictions
of Kwanzaa and encourages Christians not to celebrate this spiritually
seductive holiday." Carlotta quite simply put her faith in
Christ above (so-called) "race." She epitomizes
the Christian thinker.
Roman Catholicism: Pro & Con ---
Proclaiming
the Gospel - The
website of Catholic-turned-evangelical Michael P. Gendron, now an evangelist.
Gendron has posted some good resources, and is included here because of
his obvious motivation to reach Catholics, and his clear attempt to be
fair and gracious in his presentation.
Biblical
Evidence for Catholicism - No,
I am not Roman-Catholic! However, I have great respect for this evangelical-turned-Catholic
David Armstrong. I offer this site as the "best"
of the arguments for Catholicism. In addition, David provides a TON of
links and articles of general interest to orthodox Christians - even Protestants
: )
Spiritual Abuse & Legalism ---
Lois
Johnson's Spiritual Abuse Site - Lois
is a gutsy and intelligent sister sounding the alarm about spiritual abuse.
Nevertheless, she does so very tactfully and without offending. Her site
contains some great material on both the United Pentecostal Church (of
which she was a part) and also of a more general nature. MUST SEE.
Twisted
Scriptures - This
is the website of Mary Alice Chrnalogar, author of the book of the same
name. A spiritual abuse victim herself, Mary offers various resources to
help victims of abusive churches - including a condensed version of her
book posted online.
21st
Century Christianity - Webmaster
Fred Peatross, a grace believer in the Restoration tradition (CofC/Christian/Disciples),
sums up the purpose of his site: "As we prepare to enter the
21st century, we find countless Christian leaders who have unthinkingly
turned Christian existence into ritualistic legalism. Christians are discouraged
and disheartened as they live under the yoke of Scriptureless law. This
page has been constructed in an effort to seek positive and constructive
understandings between grace centered Christianity and a mistaken ritualistic
legalism that died when Christ died over 1900 years ago." Peatross
has written and posted many important articles here for all believers.
MUST SEE.
Deception in the Church ---
Witness
to the Word - One
of the sites of Museltof Ministries. While deception in the Church is not
the only focus of the material here, it is a frequent focus. Good material
on the Word of Faith teachers, counterfeit revival, and Charismatic extremes.
Visit Museltof's other site at http://www.ourchurch.com/member/m/museltof/.
Inner-City
Christian Discernment Ministry - This
is the ministry of Robert & Tracy Liichow, both formerly involved with
the "charismatic chaos" of the word of faith movement
(Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland, etc.). Their website is perhaps the best
on the web dealing with this specific movement and the heresies it promotes.
MUST SEE. DISCLAIMER:
The Liichows have, in my opinion, "thrown out the baby with
the bathwater" and now advocate a "cessationist"
position. I regard this position as an extreme reaction to Charismatic
abuses that is as unbiblical as the Charismatic excesses.
Deception
in the Church - Many
informative articles focusing on the "prosperity"
teachers, the "spiritual warfare" movement, and
the "Toronto blessing."
Areopagitica
Ministries - Great
material on various deceptions originating in the modern Charismatic Movement.
There are some informative resources here covering the Toronto/Brownsville
manifestations, including Hanegraaff's interview with Tom Stipe, a pastor
formerly involved in the counterfeit revival. Also includes some articles
covering various abused concepts such as speaking to Satan and "the
anointing." MUST SEE.
Cross
+ Word - Good
articles exposing various deceptions in the Church (holy laughter, counterfeit
revivals, ecumenical compromise, etc.). Also a message board and other
resources.
Take
Heed Ministries - Articles
dealing with the Word of Faith, Vineyard, and Toronto deceptions from a
concerned European ministry. It ain't just America, folks.
Vanguard
- An online newsletter
offering articles by such men as Philip Powell (former Australian AofG
General Secretary) and Bill Randles (author of Weighed and Found Wanting).
Covers the counterfeit revival and Promise Keepers, among other deceptions.
Free e-mail subscription available.
World
Revival Prayer Fellowship - Evangelical
Pentecostal Pastor A.M. Mathew defends the faith against various attempts
to integrate the faith with Hinduism and ecumenism in general. Also some
material on Mormonism. A growing site.
Light
Ministries - Several
articles dealing with heresy in the modern Church, particularly the word
of faith movement and Charismatic excesses. There are also some great articles
here on basic doctrine and practical issues. Jason Boothe's article, "A
Consecrated Church ? - A Critical Examination of Modern Church Culture,"
should be required reading.
The
Contenders - Good
information on various deceptions in the Church, utilizing up-to-date news
items. Also some good resources on New Age teaching.
Believers
in Grace Ministries - This
is the ministry of Pastor Bill Randles, a Charismatic pastor taking a stand
against deception in the Church, including both the "Toronto
Blessing" and the so-called "spiritual warfare
movement." Randles' books and tapes are listed here, and some
articles are available online.
Psychoheresy
Awareness Ministries - I
am increasingly amazed at the
number of Christians that really think there is "nothing wrong"
with the so-called "science" (not!) of psychology.
The Bobgans, authors of several books on the subject, dismantle this false
system piece by piece and in a variety of ways. Free newsletter available.
MUST SEE.
SingleVISION
Ministries - Marital
problems, anger, stress, anxiety, depression -- believers have problems
like everyone else. This counseling ministry located in Austin, Texas employs
the Bible as the basis for a counseling methodology that works where conventional
therapy has not. This site includes many excellent resources, an e-mail
list, and also some fine articles on many practical topics. Reformed in
perspective.
Family-Discipleship
Ministries - This
is Sid Galloway's great resource dealing with many family and discipleship
issues. The practical teaching on this site is thoroughly biblical and
presented within a context including articles, pictures and acronyms that
make the principles easy to apply and remember. MUST SEE.
The
Scripture Memory Connection -
An amazing site! THE internet resource
for what I call the "forgotten key to sanctification"
(see THINKMAIL
#4) - the memorization of Scripture! Features an e-mail discussion
list devoted strictly to the memorization of Scripture, as well as great
resources dealing with all of the "whys" and "hows"
of Scripture memorization. MUST SEE.
Moore
on Life - Although
there isn't much online here at this moment (10/99), hopefully that will
change soon. This is the ministry of David T. Moore, Senior Pastor at Southwest
Community Church in Palm Desert, California. Although Moore and I stand
at opposite ends of the debate over "free will"
and predestination (Moore being the "free will"
advocate), nevertheless he remains in my "top ten"
favorite Bible teachers. He is easy to listen to, and delivers intensely
practical messages with exegetical style. Currently, you can access his
radio shows in real audio, and view his tape list online.
The
Christian in Complete Armour Daily - An
e-mail devotional ministry using William Gurnall's classic The Christian
in Complete Armour, a wonderful Puritan text on true spiritual warfare.
Kingdomlife.com
- A great resource
of "Christian mystics" past and present. I do not
share the wholesale suspicion and condemnation of "mysticism"
that many of my fellow Calvinists promote. I consider Christianity to be
a very experiential faith with a definite "mystical"
aspect. While some of the Christian mystics tend to be out-of-balance,
we can learn much from them. CAUTION:
I do not endorse all of the material online at this site - read with discernment.
The
Liberty Inn - Articles
and resources on the important (and neglected) topic of Christian liberty.
"Between Legalism and Antinomianism Lies Christian Liberty
." Amen.
He
Invites - Finally!
I kept waiting for someone to do this (or, to FIND who had done this already).
This site is dedicated to posting Christian testimonies - not just of salvation,
but of God working in lives in many different ways. Really cool, and great
encouragement for believers!
Institute
in Basic Life Principles - Information
on Bill Gothard's seminars and organization. Gothard gets much criticism,
but I heartily recommend the Basic Seminar to all believers. The approach
is non-denominational and focuses on applying the principles in Scripture
to every area of life. The seminar entrance fee is a one-time charge for
materials that applies for life (i.e., entrance to repeat seminars is free).
The
Best Christian Sites Report -
Offers a free e-mail newsletter. Each issue
is a topical list of web links to assist the believer in different aspects
of Christian growth. All back issues are archived.
The
"Screwdisk" E-Mail -
A take-off on C.S. Lewis' classic Screwtape
Letters, revamped by Mr. Mendler to reflect the computerized society in
which we live. Very interesting, entertaining, and thought-provoking material!
Christian
Financial Concepts - An
area where we all need instruction! This is the ministry of Larry Burkett.
