Everyone reaches that point in life where they wonder what it's all about. What exactly is the KEY to it all? Are we just random accidents of nature that take up space, enduring hardship until the day we die? How can anyone look into a clear night sky at the heavens and still believe that? Everything from the smallest sub-atomic particle to the immense heavenly bodies shows the design and handiwork of our Creator. God is as REAL as you are!

God created man to be in fellowship with Him. The first man Adam represented us all in the Garden of God. You can read about it in Genesis 1-2. God created a wife for Adam and they lived in peace with all creation. Every living thing was vegetarian and there was NO DEATH.

Now God had commanded Adam and his wife not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. However, Adam's wife was tempted by the serpent (Satan - see Rev. 12:9 and 20:2) and ate of the fruit. When Adam found her he willingly chose to eat with her, sharing her fate. God's penalty for disobedience was DEATH. Adam and his wife, now called Eve, were banished from God's Garden. Out of fellowship with their Creator, DEATH began to work in them. You can read about this in Genesis 3. Since Adam, ALL human beings are SINNERS BY NATURE through inheritance from their representative (see Romans 3:9-20).

WHAT WE NEEDED WAS A NEW REPRESENTATIVE!

God had a plan long before any of us were born on this planet! God Himself BECAME MAN in the Person of Jesus Christ. Born of a virgin by the act of God, Jesus bypassed the sin inheritance and was sinless. Furthermore He overcame all temptation and remained sinless! Thus, Jesus won the battle that Adam had lost. As prophesied (Isa. 53), Christ GAVE HIMSELF and shed His blood as our SUBSTITUTE (1 Cor. 5:7; Rom. 3:25; 1 John 2:2; 4:10). Three days later God the Father raised Jesus out from among those who are dead so that we too could be raised up when He comes again (John 11:25; 14:19). " ... God commends His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Rom. 5:8). THIS is the GOOD NEWS of the gospel!

SO NOW WHAT? The salvation in Christ is FREE to all who will believe (John 3:16; Acts 13:39). To "believe" means to turn from YOUR OWN way (repentance) and turn to GOD'S way; to put all your trust in Christ ALONE for salvation. Don't worry about being "good enough." REMEMBER: Christ died for SINNERS. Leave changing you to HIM. Perhaps you may want to verbalize your faith by praying and asking God to forgive your sins and to change you. There are no "magical formulas." No "plan." Just CHRIST and the work that HE ALONE accomplished! AND HE WILL BE COMING AGAIN TO FINISH WHAT HE STARTED!

Your own works will get you NOWHERE. You will run in circles just like the person in this box. Continually working, but NEVER getting anywhere! JESUS CHRIST accomplished it ALL over 2,000 years ago - RECEIVE it, BELIEVE it, LIVE it! We can only love Him because "He FIRST loved us."
