GREAT TRIBULATION (Persecution of Christians begins at the Midpoint of the seven-year period of Daniel)
Abomination of Desolation Daniel 9:27 "And he will make a firm covenant with the many for one week, but in the middle of the week he will put a stop to sacrifice and grain offering; and on the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolation, even until a complete destruction, one that is decreed, is poured out on the one who makes desolate."
Matthew 24:15-18 15"Therefore when you see the Abomination of Desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand) 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains; 17let him who is on the housetop not go down to get things out that are in his house; 18and let him who is in the field not turn back to get his cloak.
Daniel 11:31 And forces of him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation. Daniel 12:7-11 7And I heard the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished. 11"And from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 2 Thessalonians 2:4 Who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. Isaiah 26:19-20 20Come, my people, enter into your rooms, And close your doors behind you; Hide for a little while, Until indignation runs its course. 21For behold, the Lord is about to come out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; and the earth will reveal her bloodshed, and will no longer cover her slain.
Revelation 12:14 And the two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman, in order that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she was nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
Persecution of Christians Begins
Revelation 6:7-8 7When the Lamb broke the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come." 8I looked, and behold, an ashen horse; and he who sat on it had the name Death; and Hades was following with him. Authority was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by the wild beasts of the earth.
Matthew 24:15-22 19But woe to those who are with child and to those who nurse babes in those days! 20But pray that your flight may not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath; 21for then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall. 22And unless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days shall be cut short.
Zechariah 13:8-9 8And it shall come to pass in all the land," Says the Lord, "That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one-third shall be left in it: 9I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, 'This is My people'; And each one will say, 'The Lord is my God.' "
Matthew 24:23-26 23Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. 24For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you beforehand. 26Therefore if they say to you, 'Look, He is in the desert!' do not go out; or 'Look, He is in the inner rooms!' do not believe it.
Revelation 6:9-11 9When he broke the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God, and because of the testimony which they had maintained; 10and they cried out with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, will You refrain from judging and avenging our blood on those who dwell on the earth?" 11And there was given to each of them a white robe; and they were told that they should rest for a little while longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren who were to be killed even as they had been, would be completed also. 2 Timothy 3:12 And indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. Daniel 7:25 "He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints of the Highest One, and he will intend to make alterations in times and in law; and they will be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time.
