Curtis and Donna Cruise on The Love boat!

The Regal Princess

This was for sure the vacation of a lifetime! The Regal Princess is a big and beautiful ship with a delightfull crew. This dream cruise had a fantastic itinerary. The ports of call included: Barbados, Mayreau (Grenadines), Martinique, St. Maarten, St. Thomas and San Jaun, Puerto Rico.
The things we heard about cruise's were true. There is great food, and more of it, at more times of the day than a person could possibly take in. The service was wonderfull and our steward kept our room spotless. The only hard part was deciding between all of the activities, tours, shore excursions, ship board shows, shopping , well you get the idea!

Donna made an immediate impression on the Executive chef by explaining to him the marvelous quality of ostrich meat. She told him she had brought him some literature all the way from Texas just for him!

The next day she gave the Maitre D' copies of the Culinary rewiew, Chefs magizine and Ostrich news all with Articles on the qualities of ostrich meat. The next evening the Chef had delivered to our room a tray of huge choclate covered strawberries and a tray of hor'derves with caviar, pate', and smoked salmon for his new special lady passenger!

Touring the islands was great adventure! All of the islands have great shopping and Donna showed that she is a professional at this! Curtis had to learn how to drive with the steering wheel on the right, the shifter to his left and to drive on the left side of the road. Many of the main intersections were these circles called roundabouts with roads and cars coming in from all different directions, sometimes we would go around them 2 or 3 times before we could get off on the right road, it was wild! Of course the islands and coastlines were beautifull and we took rolls and rolls of pictures. The most picturesque island was Martinique. There is a volcano there that has erupted and destroyed the local towns on several occasions. But the volcanic lava has made the island rich and fertile and lush green.
St.Maartin had the world famous "French Riviera of the Carribean" which is the Oreint Beach, where we saw toppless, and bottomless vacationers enjoying the warm sun.
On St.Thomas Curtis went scuba diving with the New Waves scuba tour from the ship. Exotic corral reefs and a shipwreck awaited him on this 2 tank dive day.
Back at San Juan (our port of departure) we toured the old spanish forts, did some more shopping and got ready to go back home. The week went by too fast and we wanted to get back on the boat and do it all over again!
