Lake Travis water skiing and conditions:

Ahh!! Lake Travis and water skiing, what a beautiful combination. Now that the lake is back up after the drought conditions of 1996, everyone is looking forward to a great year of boating and water sports. 1996 saw the lake drop to the lowest levels in many years. There is nothing more frustrating than having lake front property and not being able to use your boat dock or any of the local ramps because of low water. Well all that has changed and we're ready to kick off the 1997 lake season!
With lake levels back to around 678 ft above sea level, all boat ramps are again accessable and everyone's docks are back in the water.
Before the lake levels dropped last season, we had some great skiing on the Pedernales River. My friends from work, David, Greg and Mark all love to come and ski on the Pedernales. Mark and David have a portable slalom course and last year everyone made great improvements on their slalom passes. David and I both skied personal best's! David made 3@ 38 ft off and I made 2@ 35 ft off. David got to compete in a couple of local tournaments sponsered by The Capital Area Water Ski Club.
I would love to try and make a few tournaments this year, I'll just have to take some time off from work. Donna and I look forward to our summer days off again here on the lake! One other cool site to check out is The Water Skier's Web.
Here are some photo's of our "Ski Team" and other familly ski pics! Hope to see you out on the lake!
